I love Peterson’s game and I don’t doubt he can be better than AJ, but I don’t think the Wizards can afford to gamble with the questions surrounding Peterson.
On top of that, some Peterson comps thrown around are Tre Johnson and Bradley Beal.
We tried building around Beal.
Drafting Peterson means Tre Johnson (who we just used the 6th pick on) is either forced to be a bench player or forced to be traded
The Wizards have never been in a position to draft a blue chip 6’9 athletic elite scorer who can pass with the #1 pick

Here’s the full series highlights from this series. Pay attention.
Defenses were allowed to be all up on you. Defenders like Shane Battier were All Defense level players with great length and defensive ability. Ron Artest as well.
The paint is packed. And there isn’t 2-4 players on the court at all times that will jack up a 3 so the perimeter and the paint is all packed.
You have to be elite. You have to be the BEST to score on this. You have to be an elite shooter that can be effective in a small space. That can make a shot with a hand in the face. That can shoot off angles and off balance.
Can’t you see? I give Jordan the edge because of his freakish athletic ability. But this man Kobe Bryant mastered the skill of the game. When players like @ReggieMillerTNT says that Kobe was Jordan but took it to another level because of Kobe’s jump shooting, THIS IS WHAT HE WAS REFERRING TO.

i’d say the one thing still lacking in this Wizards organization is the fan experience at Cap One. it’s like Ted is trying to cram as many high paying folk into “VIP” suites and completely forgetting that the rowdy, regular fans like ourselves are the ones who bring the energy.
instead of replicating The Wall which the Clippers have found so much success with, we stroll out some Hennessy Lofts (which are directly responsible for the opposition shooting a league best from the FT line) and now The Halo. nothing within the last few years that lowers ticket prices or increases the opportunity for real fans to cheer on their team closer to the court.
this move will price fans out and what you’ll end up having is a bunch of non-Wizards rich people sitting in the 100/200 while the ones who cheer are relegated to the nosebleeds.
@TedLeonsis fix this shit man.

He was most of the fanbase's favorite player last season and now everyone is off the wagon because of a not-so-uncommon sophomore slump? Lame.

I hate when players mention fans, most of which have been fans of the team longer than they’ve been alive, certainly longer than they’ve been professional athletes, like the reason capital one was dead isn’t because of the trash ass product they were a part of on the floor. Ask John Wall or Gilbert Arenas, when the team is good, fans are engaged like a MF.
