I have to laugh at these reports like: "Putin tentatively agrees to trilateral meeting w/ Trump + Zelenskyy." There is a better chance that I will be doing the no pants dance with Sydney Sweeney than there is of a meeting between Putin and Zelenskyy. Putin does not believe Ukraine exists as a real country, separate from Russia. He's talked such a big game about this, particularly to his own people. If he were to sit across the table with Zelenskyy, it would legitimize the Ukrainian President. He's not going to do that. Lastly, it's been reported that Russia is demanding territory that they do not currently control/occupy, in any sort of "deal." That is a non-starter for Ukraine, understandably. You dont give up territory the enemy doesnt have control over. So, you have basically two immovable objects here. - Putin is not going to "legitimize" Zelenskyy with a meeting, unless that meeting is an overwhelming humiliation of Ukraine - Zelenskyy is not going to cede territory that Russia doesn't even have control over
