My two favorite objections to this bill.
People have no idea how totally fake App Store star ratings can be, or how easily scammers buy them in bulk every day.
Apple's lobbyists must have studied the playbook of the fake reviews on their own platforms. The "public" commentary on the Arizona bill to grant devs protection from App Store extortion/retaliation is 🤯. These identical comments just go on for days. apps.azleg.gov/RequestToSpea…

I’m getting the impression Kosta is going to keep this up until Apple does something meaningful. I kept giving up after a few days of making noise about scam apps. Kosta has been at it for 12 days now and it’s only gaining steam. 👏🏻
"Kosta wrote another detailed thread on how scams abuse the App Store rating system. And at the heart of his concerns: ensuring the validity of apps’ information – in this case the feedback from users – so it’s really something consumers can trust."

"Eleftheriou's exposure of the rampant App Store scheme has led many more developers and critics to share their own experiences and hopefully put pressure on Apple to tighten up its app moderation and consider overhauling its billing interface and options"

Replying to @WatchChatInfo @steipete
The irony about this whole fake review thing is that reviews were put in place precisely to protect consumers *from* scammers – now they serve them!
