And yet local programming from the BBC and commercial outlets have been decimated. Forget anything but national messaging… if you’re lucky.
No one has said “Austen Powers” with regards to the storm. Still time @peter_levy @Hudsonweather !
Whenever I had a Friday off, dad would visit. Pub, then fish and chips. Went for fish and chips in his memory today. He’s probably shouting at me for not having the pint. Miss you dad.
This is going to get interesting when our local media start reporting on it.

Brilliant episode of Ade and Sam go birding around Flamborough, Brid and Bempton. I adore being from and living here. @exitthelemming getting excited about tree sparrows was fab. We’re currently watching the big migrations over the headland.
Flu jab today. Had to go private as work scheme has been delayed. Flu cases are growing very quickly already. Go early.
My company flu vaccine has been delayed until later this year. I know early flu cases are rising so I’ve opted for a private jab just so I can get it much sooner.
A new mural in my home town commemorating the Battle of Flamborough Head. I hope @86SirRoge approves!
I love this analogy. I’m a left-hander and still holding out at the wicket at 53 today. Happy birthday us.
October 8th. It’s my birthday. I am officially another year older. 53 not out - a perfectly respectable individual batting score at cricket. Nothing flashy, a couple of streaky boundaries and at least one very close LBW that the umpire somehow missed. Run rate has slowed, the middle order is creaking and I’m still refusing to declare. Counting my blessings that I’m not yet back in the pavilion.
This is so me. Although it’s made a little better by my daughter loving the same band as me @museband
I met Jeffry Archer a few times at charity events. Always a gentleman.
Made a cracking tomato and lentil soup for tea. Daughter suggested treacle pud and Ambrosia custard for duff like her grandad used to do. Proper tea.
Miss you dad.
I’ve been supporting the work of @4ocean for a few years. Magnificent work.
