Refs have been ruining seasons for years, often to the benefit of the Packers, and it was always labeled “excuses” or “sour grapes” But now that the Packers are getting a taste of what most of the rest of the league has been getting, suddenly it’s a media worthy crisis

In my 19 years covering the Packers on a daily basis, I've never written a blame-the-refs story. Yeah, I get it, the Packers beat themselves, too, but what happened at Ford Field was unaccepable, an embarrassment and, to quote Xavier McKinney, bullshit. ⬇️ si.com/nfl/packers/onsi/xavi…

Xavier McKinney Correctly Calls Officiating ‘Bull****’ After Packers Lose to Lions

DETROIT – Green Bay Packers safety Xavier McKinney had the perfect word in mind to describe the officiating in Sunday’s 20-17 loss to the Detroit Lions. Bull***

I don’t want to sympathize with Packers fans, but it’s crazy the refs did this.

A loss is one thing. You lose because the other team was better. But the officials were HUGELY influential in the game with a slew of obviously bad calls leading to Lions points. That’s annoying.

Absurd defensive penalties helped 3 Lions RZ trips. They scored 10 points on those trips, and the non-scoring drive required a fourth-down stop. That includes the game-winning drive. There's just no way around mentioning the impact the refs had on the game.
