You need to be dressing up your jeans more. Ditch the hoodie and sneakers. And the trash denim jeans. Loafers and quality knit quarter zips🤌 The killer chocolate suede penny loafers you see me wearing here are from Meermin (affiliate): ktku.co/1qk Hard to beat for under $250 USD.

Style advice: It’s not just WHAT you wear. It’s HOW you wear it. Take the corduroy suit. The fabric brings texture and character, but the cut and fit determine whether it looks sharp or shapeless. On the left: a sharp silhouette, clean trouser lines, and suede boots that pull everything together. On the right: excess fabric, trousers bunching at the ankles, and a faded graphic tee that makes everything look sloppy AF. So, “Are corduroy suits stylish?” They certainly can be but the suit alone won’t do all the work.

Pierce Brosnan is the MASTER of the open collared dress shirt look. 👇 He nails this fit time and time again. Key is having extra tall shirt collar. Quality and construction of the shirt matter as well. Here is my favorite option for pulling off this look...

Sweater vest + dress shirts + slacks and dress shoes. This is right in the wheelhouse of business casual. Because you've got the vest you don't *need* a jacket per se, and I wouldn't recommend one (and by jacket I mean a blazer or sport coat). Again, the key move here is no tie + sleeves rolled. You should also wear a proper dress shirt (no sport shirts). I also prefer a cardigan vest like you see below on Christ Evans vs a solid vest.

How formal would you consider this? I tend to run warm, so adding another layer (like a jacket) won't often work for me. If this isn't formal at all, can you dress it up?

One of the best podcast eps I've listened to in a while. This is for the nutrition nerds that want to dive into the nuances on the effects of saturated fat on liver health. Key takeaway: saturated fat ain't good for your liver...but within in the context of calorie restriction + high protein, it may not matter *as much* (i.e. you can get away with higher sat fat intakes and still lose liver fat). In fact, I'm really interested in the potential effects of protein (specific amino acids) that might be helping to reduce/mitigate the deposition of liver fat in humans. I suspect lots of follow up trials will be run from the study that was covered in this episode.

Style advice: Collars out with your sweaters = artful dishevelment. You have to finesse this aesthetic. The key is keeping things carefree and relaxed, so that means pairing the shirt and sweater with chinos, denim, and casual footwear (quality leather sneakers, loafers, or even boots). I'd also recommend a sport shirt with this look vs a proper dress shirt.

Attitudes are skills you practice and not just static traits you inherit.
Everyday is an opportunity to practice the habit of showing up as your best. And that starts with your attitude. Followed closely by your style and comportment.

Don't forget about the the shawl collar pullover. 👇 These haven't had a run up in menswear for some time now. I think it's about time that changed. It's a nice alternative to a v-neck.
Cardigans over plain t-shirts. Do this instead of a hoodie. I recommend a nice shawl collar cardigan. You want something with enough weight and texture to not only give you warmth but enough separation between the pieces.

With the right strategy, you can build muscle, get stronger, and improve your endurance at the same time. The catch? You can't maximize them all at the same time. This is one of the coaching tips in my new app, Capacity Training:

The simplest way to build a network: Be relentlessly useful. Talk positively about people behind their backs. Send helpful resources. Connect friends with friends. Learn a skill then share it. Shout people out in public. The best way to get a friend is to be a friend.

Muscle mass is expensive tissue. The human body isn’t just going to throw that on willy nilly. You have to give it some damn good reasons. Keep that at the forefront of your mind before each set you perform.

FYI - the best physique for a suit isn’t a bodybuilder’s physique. Think broad shoulders, developed chest, lean waist, athletic legs. Enough muscle to give the tailoring shape but not so much that you’re fighting the clothes.
