Ben started out over 480 pounds. He’s lost more than 200 pounds. And he just lifted more than he weighed when he started.
I met Ben for the first time a little more than two years ago. At that point, he’d lost 85 pounds since he joined our app, but he was still nervous. He asked me how to keep going. I told him he knew better than I did, because he was already doing it.
That was all he needed to hear. He finally gave himself permission. He believed. He kept going. And he’s not finished.
You might not need to lose 200 pounds. You might not want to deadlift a small car.
But I bet there is something in your life that you haven’t given yourself permission to believe you can do, and I guarantee you can do it.

@PetsatHome I went into your Inverurie branch on Sunday to buy some mealworms. I noticed that none of the live food (crickets, mealworms, hoppers etc) had any food, and were basically just being left to starve to death. On the top shelf there were 3 boxes of crickets, DEAD. 1/3
2/3 ALL DEAD. Left to starve to death in a box. I took them downstairs to the till, and told the girl what I'd found. "we don't feed live food" she chirped, as if that was some kind of explanation. I said "They are animals too, and they need feeding. @RSPCA_official @ScottishSPCA

"I was pulled over today for speeding. The officer did not know me, nor did I know him, but we each showed one another a mutual display of respect in our interaction. He was doing his job, and I had made a mistake in trying to hurry home to get started moving that led to our paths crossing.
He ran my information, and in the end, we talked more about how our individual days were going and the situations and circumstances within our society that have led to interactions such as his and mine to play out much more negatively, some even deadly, than ours, than we talked about the situation that led to him pulling me over.
In the end, we both thanked each other for our mutual displays of respect and agreed to take a "selfie" together to help tell our story.
I can't stress enough that NO demographic and/or profession of people are all bad. Neither of us are the enemy. We can continue to fight against each other until we are literally "black and blue," or we can show one another the respect we inherently deserve, not as "black man" and "blue police officer," but as humans. None greater, none less... Respect"
