The boring parts of physical AI: accountability (@paskwitness), field service (@robotkeepers), hardware. By field operators, for field operators

@PaskWitness is a witness for robots at work. Every time a robot does a job on a site, Pask seals a record of what happened that anyone can check later without trusting the robot maker, the site, or Pask.

A Pask record doesn't prove the job was done well. It proves who approved it, at the gate, before it started. Sealed on site, verifiable offline. Quality is a separate file. Approval is ours. pask-witness.com

I talk with a lot of hospital and bank people who want to use AI but won’t put their sensitive data anywhere near it. Most private AI today still trusts one chip inside the server. That chip can be compromised, and when it is, prompts behind it can leak. That’s fine for many, but a real risk for those dealing with very sensitive data. @Arcium just took that chip out of the trust chain. Blackthorn splits the keys across several independent parties, so no single machine holds them. If the privacy problem is really solved, which industry jumps in first? arcium.com/blackthorn
🤝 Paid partnership
Today we're releasing Blackthorn in Private Alpha: The first Private AI inferencing stack that removes the CPU TEE from the trust chain. Blackthorn can load and run any AI model privately with little performance overhead compared to plaintext inference.

🚨 BREAKING: @EkaRobotics just raised $150M in Series A funding at a $1.45 billion valuation, led by a16z and F-Prime Capital. The founding team is exceptional. @pulkitology is an MIT professor. Tuomas Haarnoja is a former DeepMind researcher, the person behind Soft Actor-Critic, one of the most influential reinforcement learning algorithms of the last decade. Eka is not building a VLA, Vision-Language-Action model, like almost everyone else in the field. They’re building a Vision-Force-Action architecture. The difference matters enormously. Force is the missing variable. Most robot manipulation models see the world through cameras and predict actions. Eka’s architecture pairs vision with a force-sensitive gripper, the robot feels what it touches and uses that signal as part of the control loop. One roboticist compared the demo to the moment robots first achieved reliable legged locomotion. The training approach combines simulation and reinforcement learning, the same paradigm that cracked locomotion and is now being applied to dexterous manipulation. Force feedback. Sim-to-real RL. MIT and DeepMind pedigree. a16z and F-Prime conviction. This is one of the most interesting manipulation companies to emerge this year. ~~ ♻️ Join the weekly robotics newsletter, and never miss any news → ziegler.substack.com
