incompetent vibe coders have flooded every software-related community with projects that -no one will ever use -could have been a PR -took 3 days to make -won’t see a single commit after v1.0.0 this is an overcorrection but the anger is very understandable
The r/OpenSource subreddit has officially banned anything using AI. In any way. Violators will be permanently banned. Which means… r/OpenSource will ban anyone submitting anything that, in any way, involves… the Linux kernel. reddit.com/r/opensource/comm…

“you’ll be left behind if you don’t use Al” Sure. And you’ll be “ahead” for a short period of time in which you’ll render yourself incapable of anything other than a middleman who knows how to prompt, which will turn out to be the most replaceable loophole job on earth

This should be illegal. The harms of this tech (enabling scams & fraud) obviously outweigh any potential benefits right now. Politicians should outlaw this as a matter of urgency.
We believe voice is the most natural way to interact with intelligence, so we created Dessa, the most authentic full-duplex speech model ever built. Talking with it feels like talking with a person…full of emotion, nuance, pauses, and a natural cadence. block.xyz/dessa

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman believes the world is entering a cybersecurity crisis and doesn't think he'll be able to prevent ChatGPT from helping cause it. "I no longer think we’re going to be able to just patch all the bugs."

Planting new trees doesn’t magically undo the destruction of an entire ecosystem. You cannot replace centuries of biodiversity with a few saplings. Companies that destroy our natural resources should face severe penalties, including permanent closure when warranted. We’ve reached a point where protecting the planet is treated as optional, and that needs to change.

The reason AI is being pushed on us so hard is because the rich and powerful want it to be widespread. Politicians want it for political use. Corporations want it so that they don't have to pay humans anymore. To those ends, they're pushing it in your face until you accept.

"How dare the FDA force food companies to state the product's ingredients on the label?"
Tim Sweeney is criticizing Valve again over Steam’s requirement for developers to disclose their use of generative AI. The Epic Games CEO called the policy “abhorrent,” arguing that developers are being forced to make a “political statement” that could be used against them by a “hate mob.” Sweeney has been criticizing the policy since 2025, previously comparing the disclosure to a “Scarlet Letter” and arguing that AI will eventually be part of almost every game production process.

We are literally entering a dystopian timeline. 😤 We have all the resources and money to protect the remaining forests worldwide, yet rich companies/people are deciding to finish them all off for DATA CENTRES! 🤦🏻‍♂️🤬
Google illegally cleared an estimated 250,000 trees across 330 hectares of forest in Muhos, northern Finland, to prepare for a new AI data center before completing mandatory environmental impact assessments And another 150,000 trees felled at Otanmäki theguardian.com/environment/…

they laid off thousands of workers for this btw
Amazon is sitting on billions of dollars worth of AI chips they can't even use. Their data centers don't have enough power to properly use all the chips they bought, so they spent billions to buy chips that are sitting in a warehouse doing nothing.

AI is truly a groundbreaking innovation. Here's what it's giving us - Ruining the internet and digital security - Making ppl dumber and less happy - Taking away jobs - Making arts worse - Needing data centers covering the Earth to provide us the above Can't imagine going back

Half of the comments under this tweet arent getting the point. "AI generated images contribute massively to misinformation in addition to being bad for artists" and "getty charging 5 billion dollars per stock image is stupid" can coexist. This isnt a single-issue problem
