UCE History Paper 1 that was done this week. Y’all this new curriculum is not a joke. It’s no longer about causes and effects of Indian Ocean trade or Causes and effects of Bantu migration. My nephew is cooked, this paper was not that simple😅

Every girl deserves to learn with dignity. Together with @reachahand, we are bringing 300+ students from 20 schools in Kasese district to participate in the "It's brave girls: undo the taboo" festival as part of the world menstrual hygiene celebrations. Over the past 2 years, our efforts across the regions have: ✅ Sensitised more than 45,000 adolescents on menstrual health and hygiene ✅ Provided close to 35,000 girls with sanitary pads ✅ Reached almost 30,000 secondary school girls and about 5,500 girls in communities These numbers represent girls attending class with confidence, speaking openly about menstrual health and accessing what they need to thrive. As we continue to challenge harmful myths and break the silence surrounding menstruation, we invite you to be part of the conversation. 🎥 Watch the live stream here: youtube.com/live/wG0lrcXhlAA All this has been possible with funding from Belgium and @EUinUG. #EnablingChange

Tourism is more than places. It’s people, culture, stories & experiences. 🇺🇬 From the colours & rhythms of Karamoja to its landscapes, heritage & communities, culture is at the heart of what makes a destination unique. Through WeExplore, a project funded by @EUinUG, Enabel is working with tourism actors and local communities to help turn these assets into opportunities, promoting destinations, supporting local tourism enterprises and strengthening connections across the tourism value chain. Our work in Karamoja is part of a wider effort to strengthen Uganda’s sustainable tourism circuits. As we mark #WorldTourismDay, we celebrate the people and cultures that make Uganda worth exploring. #WeExploreUG #EnablingChange #WTD2026 #GlobalGateway

For Baptist Twesige, life-skills training has made a real difference in how he leads. “Before the training, I struggled to manage stress and often made radical decisions when faced with challenges,” he says. “Now, I respond more constructively and handle problems better.” In a school where student strikes were common, staying calm and working together was essential. 💡 Innovation doesn’t always mean creating something new. In Uganda, 200 community-based workers equipped with TVET tools have reached 81,000+ people, helping young people see skills training as a pathway to employment and opportunity. We’re proud that our colleague Sandra Abbo recently shared this experience at the 2nd East African Conference on Education in Nairobi.

I have signed a Cooperation Framework with the Belgian Agency for International Cooperation (Enabel) Country Director Nicolas OEBEL on inclusion & non-discrimination in interventions financed by Belgium. The signing ceremony was witnessed by H.E. Hugues Chantry, the Ambassador of Belgium to Uganda. This initiative is aimed at strengthening the protection and promotion of human rights in regions participating in the Belgium-Uganda Country Programme. These interventions will be supported with a grant worth EUR 299,616. I appreciate Belgium’s continued support to Uganda's development priorities, evidenced by the ongoing five-year Uganda-Belgium Country Program with a grant worth EUR 68 million. I called for strong coordination, accountability & collaboration in implementation.

A certificate can open a door. But what really enables a young person thrive once they have acquired it? Confidence. Communication. Teamwork. Problem-solving. Adaptability. Leadership. These life and soft skills matter in the classroom, at work and in everyday life. Through life skills education in schools and our Work Readiness Programme, we work with partners to equip young people with these essential skills. This #InternationalYouthDay, let’s make these skills part of how we prepare every young person for life, work and the future they want to build. #EnablingChange #WeWorkUG #WeLearnUG #WeTeachUG #WeTrain4HealthUG

Mr. Nicolas Oebel, Country Director @EnabelinUganda Our work focuses on two main pillars," Oebel said. "The first is skilling and creating decent employment opportunities, where we support young people and communities to acquire skills that improve their livelihoods. The second is strengthening social services, particularly education and health, because these sectors are key to sustainable national development. #VisionUpdates @EnabelinUganda 📷RchardNsanya
