"In the beginning, God created..."
We are looking forward to welcoming pastor, author, (and my friend) C. R. Wiley to Antioch for what promises to be a fantastic conference on Saturday, November 14th. He'll also be filling the Old Antioch pulpit in our morning service on the 15th. Please consider joining us. Register now, as spots are limited.
Beginning at 10 AM on Saturday of the conference, we will consider "The Cosmic Mandate for a Productive Household" and "Reflecting Our Creator-Redeemer" before breaking for lunch and afternoon fellowship. Doors will open at 9:30 AM, and childcare will be provided for the two morning sessions. Registration is required.
At 6:30 PM, Pastor Wiley will lead a casual men's hangout discussion around his latest book, "Manmade: Saint Anthony's Guide to Surviving the A.I. Apocalypse."
In morning worship on the 15th, Pastor Wiley will continue the theme, and I will close out the Lord's Day with a sermon on promoting a gospel culture of spiritual (and physical) life and vitality in our evening service. We'd love for you to join us.
Join us on Saturday, 11/14 w/ @crwiley1962.

Presbyterian church-planting should be thoroughly biblical, Christian, and Presbyterian.
But we repeat ourselves.
Very helpful from my friend Matt Adams - valuable reading and doing!
We affirm that Christ ordinarily gathers and matures His people through the ministry of His Church, that Christians have callings in the world through which they love their neighbors, and that God has sovereignly placed congregations among particular people.
@MD_Adams90
There are three essentials to pursuing church-planting that will promote faithfulness and renewal in the PCA:
1) Missional Clarity
2) Proactive Integrity
3) Compelling Leadership
Check out the article on @PCAPolity for further elaboration on these three essentials.

βIf a pastor wonβt speak up because heβs afraid of being political, Satan will politicize everything until he wonβt speak at all.β
@dmichaelclary explains why pastors must address political issues biblically without turning the pulpit into a platform for punditry.

Complementarianism was supposed to settle the question of women in the church. It didnβt.
Now, the drift toward egalitarianism and feminism in the church has only accelerated. Some churches say they are complementarian but adopt the posture that βa woman may do anything a non-ordained man may do.β May a woman preach on Motherβs Day βunder the authorityβ of the elders? What about teaching a Sunday school class or leading a small group? May a woman serve as a deacon? What about the growing number of women enrolled in seminaries?
Drawing from years of experience helping their own churches navigate these issues, pastors D. @dmichaelclary) and Zachary M. Garris (@ZacharyGarris) argue that mainstream complementarianism was never sturdy enough to hold the line. They wrote this book to give the church something firmer.
