I really think people have the idea & the reasons for the so-called "golden years" of development wrong. The magic isn't the age, but the traditional activities during that age: Play!
Turning ages 5-12 into drill work to maximize the golden years destroys their goldenness.
All FBS schools deserve a chance. If not, then create a new division. The fact that if you are not in the SEC, B1G, and maybe, even the ACC, you are little brother is ridiculous.

The presidential fitness test is nothing without daily (mandatory) Physical Education and recess!
Shouldn’t it also mean that you compete in multiple sports with different physical disciplines. Being a powerlifter who runs a lot for fun, or a runner who puts too much volume towards increasing their already strong enough squat and deadlift just means bad physical preparation.
If you claim to be a “hybrid athlete” I expect you to be in the top 1% for endurance events (5k up through marathon) and some strength-based sport.
Basically you need to be good as hell at Hyrox (or similar) and also be a fast marathon runner.
Being big and running mediocre times doesn’t mean anything. That’s just being well-rounded and fit.
More people need to talk about El Duque!
Not enough people talk about Orlando Hernandez

Not enough people talk about Ramiro Mendoza
• Classic starter/reliever swing man for NYY
• 2.51 ERA, 1.012 WHIP in the postseason
• Huge part of the Yankee Dynasty years
• Reached 100 IP 4x, 50% GB rate 7x
• Went to BOS but returned to NYY
• From 1998-2000, during which the Yankees won three straight championships, Mendoza went 26-15 with a 120 ERA+ and threw two complete game shutouts despite mostly being a reliever
• Across his entire first stint with the Yankees from 1996-2002, Mendoza was one of just two pitchers in MLB with 15+ saves, multiple CG SHO, and an ERA+ of at least 112 (along with HOF'er John Smoltz)

Every time one of the have-nots in CFB grab one tiny morsel of the sports biggest spoils, the establishment loses its shit and insists they're unworthy and must be beaten back down to serf status so the lords can continue gorging at the feast of plenty. It's exhausting.

The worst middle school coaches are the ones that feed the 8th grader that hit puberty 4 years early.

American health is a major problem.
But I don’t understand why people are acting like we’ve been ignoring exercise and diet.
I get screaming “big pharma” is en vogue.
But we’ve been saying “exercise is medicine” for decades (and researching it)
Let’s stop with strawmen

Why is it problematic when a 55-year-old retires as a multi-millionaire because he dislikes the "new system" rather than when coaches started to make 10-100x the annual salaries of college professors?
The NCAA has lots of problems, but they didn't start in the last 3 years.

Gerrit Cole's bases-empty intentional walk of Rafael Devers in the fourth inning yesterday happened on the same day that the Dodgers put position players in to pitch starting in the 7th inning, and it got me thinking:
Imaging spending hundreds of dollars to take your family to a ballgame and seeing something that uncompetitive? MLB is ostensibly the highest level of baseball you can find anywhere on the entire planet, and the point of going to the game is to see the sport's greatest athletes competing against one another.
Cole is a bona fide ace earning $36 million a year; I know the Devers has literally been a Ruth/Bonds/Gehrig level hitter against him, but somehow you want to see your ace bear down and go after him, especially early in the game with the bases empty. The idea of an ace pitcher holding up four fingers to anyone in that situation –– let alone a .277 hitter in the middle of a slump –– would be anathema to the game's greatest hurlers.
How about the superstar-laden Dodgers, a perennial contender with a lineup that boasts MVP winners like Ohtani, Betts, and Freeman; I know their pitching staff has been decimated by injuries, but having position players lay in 40-mph meatballs to Atlanta's sluggers starting in the 7th inning is one of the more uncompetitive things you'll ever see in a ballgame.
The point of sport is competition.
The point of competition is to compete.
Some people will care, some people won't, and I'm not precisely sure where that line gets drawn or why. I welcome your thoughts.
(For what it's worth, Cole's IBB backfired massively, but the Dodgers' position players pitched much better than their actual pitchers did.)

Don’t lose your mind on the internet.
Then you’ll end up thinking that the Olympics…a place where results are decided in the arena by your actual performance…defeated merit.
We live in the dumbest of times.
Their message was clear: merit is defeated, the Woke Revolution has captured the Olympics— just as it captured the academy, the press, medicine, science, Hollywood, Wall St, Madison Ave and Silicon Valley. They mocked Christians for a reason.
We must #RescueTheWest.
