Regardless of what’s going on today: -Christ is still on the throne. -His gospel is going forth. -His people are being drawn. -His enemies are being subdued. -He loves you. Act accordingly.

Two words of caution, one for older men and one for younger men. Older men, Absalom didn't come from nowhere. When Amnon violated his sister Tamar, David was furious but did nothing (2 Sam 13:21). Absalom waited two years, then took justice into his own hands. Passive fathers raise bitter sons. Don't provoke your children to anger (Eph 6:4) by ducking hard conversations or hoarding work you should hand off. Humble yourself. Own your sins, open your hands, and work alongside these young men. Some young men are telling older men, "You had your chance. Get out of our way." Young men, your grievances about what was squandered before you got here are real. Crushing cost of living and homeownership, foreigners overrunning our nation, feminism pervading everything, and American jobs handed to H-1B workers. But young Absalom had a real grievance too. He sat at the city gate stealing hearts (2 Sam 15:1-6), and he ended up hanging in an oak (2 Sam 18:9-15). Young Rehoboam forsook the counsel of the old men for the voices of his buddies and lost ten tribes (1 Kgs 12:13–16). You can name your father's sins and still honor him (Exod 20:12). Try building a house by tearing down the man who gave you your name. See how long it stands. If we want lasting reform, we need sons who honor their fathers and fathers who shepherd their sons, all of us under the lordship of Christ, building what none of us could build alone.

It’s not the end times. It’s the Covenant Lord bringing covenant judgment on the covenant breakers.

“Keep your religion out of politics” was more plausible before politics became so religious.

We live among lions, among those who are set on fire by hell (Psalm 57:4). The only reason we are safe is that the One who keeps the lions is also the Shepherd of the sheep. We find that God has sometimes allowed these lions to attack His people, giving them permission to tear His lambs and shed the blood of His saints. Although He dearly loves His people, He has often delivered them into the hands of their enemies and permitted their enemies to treat them with great cruelty. The best of men have sometimes suffered the worst of things, and the histories of every age have handed down to us tragic accounts of the cruel treatment endured by God’s people.. — John Flavel, A Practical Treatise of Fear

The best part of growing old is the perspective you gain. These losses suck, but we live to fight another day. Just like we did when Obama won. Just like when Biden won. Don’t waste a second of your life on despair. Go play a game with your kids. Go for a walk with your spouse.

To the brother who's discouraged after last night: Your vote wasn't wasted and neither was your faithfulness. Go home, kiss your wife, pray with your kids, and continue to show up. "And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9

Don’t follow anyone on X who just fuels your anger and frustration. Many can diagnose social problems, but few have a positive vision of what’s good, true and beautiful.

Saints, you serve a Kingdom that cannot be shaken The shakable things must crumble and be removed to reveal the Kingdom that cannot fall Fix your head, heart, and hands on trusting and obeying Christ our unshakable Savior and unconquerable King. Hebrews 12:26-28

In AZ, Prop 318 wins big: Requires all schools and athletic associations to designate athletic teams as male, female or co-ed based on the sex of the athletes as recorded at birth. Bars students, athletes, employees and others from joining sports teams or from using school and athletic association facilities, including restrooms, that are not designated for their sex assigned at birth. Also in AZ, Democrat Katie Hobbs wins big for governor. Theory: in AZ, gen pop didn't vote for dem policies, but against Trump.

For nearly two decades, the Ezra Institute has sought to teach all who will listen, that the Word of God reveals the root of life and culture is religion; that politics is at the mouth, not the source of the river of culture. This means that, in the long run, you can have elections and change politicians (congressman, senators, MP's etc), but without transformation at the religious root of life, without a new worldview reforming people's thinking, change will be short-lived and evaporate quickly. The politics of the modern state cannot save man or his society. Only Christ and his Word can. The West is under judgment. The time to repent (change the mind and turnaround) is now.

If we say, I know what God says but I don’t want to do that, then we’ve revealed who we really believe is Lord of our lives. It’s one thing to profess that he’s in charge, it’s another to actually live that out. It does us no good to say His Word is the standard by which we live our lives and then abandon that standard the moment our commitments get tested. All it shows is that we don’t mean what we say. This is not how God intended us to live. He wants our obedience to the truth, not our empty profession of the truth. It becomes clear to the world around us that we really love God when we actually do what he says. ““Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?” Luke 6:46 ““Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 7:21 ““If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” John 14:15
