Eden survived the unthinkable. ๐ค๐พ
Perhaps Eden was given her name for a reason, because from the very moment she came into our lives, she was already surviving the impossible.
Today, Eden went in for what should have been a routine keyhole spay.
But almost immediately, the vet looked through the camera and saw something he should never have expected to see.
Eden had a peritoneopericardial diaphragmatic hernia. Her stomach and liver had moved through an abnormal opening in her diaphragm and into the space around her heart.
And incredibly, it was the way her liver had become lodged that had been helping to keep her alive.
Until today, Eden had been running happily around the park, seemingly no different from any other day. There were no obvious signs that anything was wrong. We had absolutely no idea!
She went in for a spay and suddenly needed a life-saving operation.
Eden is now recovering and is stable. ๐ค
Thank you Pet Wellness, fisioterapia - endoscopia veterinaria for the incredibly quick action.
That certainly wasnโt expected today ๐ซฃ

๐จ๐ฃ๏ธ Arsene Wenger on Bukayo Saka winning the Socrates award:
"Couldn't be more proud, I used to watch him when he was a little boy playing in the academy, and now he is winning awards for his good deeds off the pitch"
"If you look around, you'll see that He actually deserves that award because we hardly find players who do incredible things outside playing football on the pitch"

If thereโs one player in football every young man should look up to, then itโs Bukayo Saka.
He faced racist abuse at just 19 and showed the courage to speak out. Through his work with BigShoe, heโs helped fund 120 life-changing operations for children in Nigeria, giving others the opportunity to follow their own dreams.
He shows young men that kindness is a strength. You can be ambitious and humble, overcome setbacks and still care deeply about other people.
His talent gives young footballers someone to admire. His character gives them an example to follow.
An absolute credit to Arsenal, his country, his family and himself.
Bukayo Saka, I will be by your side no matter what.

Bukayo Saka has just won the Socrates Award at the 2026 Ballon dโOr.
Not the main prize, but the one named after a player who stood for something bigger than football. And it feels right.
Saka has spent years being the one who shows up, keeps his head, and represents Arsenal and England the right way, on and off the pitch.
This is for the fair play, the consistency, and the quiet leadership.
The boy who got racially abused after the Euros final and still came back stronger.
The one who never ducks the big moments or the big responsibilities.
Proper recognition.
Proud of him.

We often hear people say, โI couldnโt adopt an old dog. I couldnโt cope with losing them so soon.โ
But what about the dog? They canโt bear the thought of dying alone in a kennel, either. And the truth is, we could lose a young dog at any moment, too.
Sometimes, we need to be stronger for them. To put their needs before our fear of heartbreak. Because giving an old dog a loving home, even for a short time, will mean the world to them.
What I love most about volunteers visiting Galgos del Sol is seeing how often their minds change. They come to meet the dogs, witness their daily lives in kennels, and discover what a difference they could make. They begin to understand that rescue isnโt just about finding a dog to fit into your life, altho thatโs off course important, Itโs also about seeing the dog who needs you most, and asking what you could offer them.
Of course, adopting a puppy or a younger dog is every bit as much a rescue. Every dog deserves a home. โค๏ธ But there is something incredibly special about giving an old dog the chance. And thatโs exactly what Catherine has decided to do.
After volunteering at Galgos del Sol twice in just a few months, Catherine & Shaun have opened their hearts to Rubio, an elderly boy, isolated his whole younger life who now struggles to interact with other dogs. His time is precious. They have chosen to give him the retirement he deserves, lots of adventures, rather than kennel walls.
Thank you, for reserving our old, lumpy boy Rubio. โค๏ธ Even after recently having some lumps removed, he deserves this. Rubio will leave in the next months ๐

EMERGENCY ๐จ Can we all band together for Eden?
Sheโs having an emergency operation.
She went in for a keyhole spay and they found a large diaphramic hernia being blocked accidentally by the liver.
This will blow at any moment and sheโll pass in minutes.
Until now weโve never saved a dog with this condition as it was too late.
The good news is she was on the table when they found it so we have a chance but itโs extremely complicated.
We are waiting for news if sheโs made itโฆ
We have the best gds family so any words of support are appreciated.

The five man Pink Floyd, January 1968: Nick Mason in the hat, Syd Barrett behind him, Roger Waters in the scarf, Rick Wright in the fringed jacket and David Gilmour crouched in front.
This is from the only photo session that included both Syd and David. By the end of 1967 Barrett's behavior had become so unpredictable that the band brought in Gilmour, an old friend of Syd's from Cambridge, as a fifth member, and in January 1968 Blackhill Enterprises announced him as the newest member. The plan was for Gilmour to cover for Barrett onstage while Syd carried on writing, but it proved unworkable. On January 26, 1968, driving to a show at Southampton University, the band decided not to pick Syd up, and his time in Pink Floyd was effectively over. His departure was formally announced on April 6, 1968.
Barrett had written most of the band's early material, including Arnold Layne, See Emily Play and much of The Piper at the Gates of Dawn. Later in 1968 Pink Floyd released A Saucerful of Secrets, the only Pink Floyd studio album with both Syd and David on it. Gilmour plays on all but two of its songs and Barrett on three.
๐ธ Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun is the only Pink Floyd song on which all five of these men play. Which era of Pink Floyd do you love most? ๐ธ

URGENT APPEAL โ FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED FOR TOBY & MILO . PLEASE SHARE TO HELP THESE TWO LOVELY LITTLE BOYS FIND THEIR BEST LIFE! Meet gorgeous Toby & Milo, two Chihuahua x Jack Russell boys who need to come into rescue through absolutely no fault of their own. Milo (black boy) is 11 years young and currently around 6.8kg. He could do with losing a little weight (bless him! ) and ideally should be around 5.5kg. Toby (tan boy) is 10 years young and a tiny 3.8kg. They may be older gentlemen, but please don't scroll past them because of their ages!
These two have plenty of life, love and adventures left in them and deserve the chance to live their very BEST LIVES. They appear to get along with other dogs, subject to successful meets. They've been fine with cats belonging to family members. They've previously lived with young children, but because they're getting older we'd ideally like a slightly quieter home with children aged 8+. Younger visiting children or grandchildren should be absolutely fine. We would LOVE to find Toby & Milo a home together if possible.Their dream home would give them plenty of love and cuddles, regular walks and little adventures, and a nice, secure garden where they can potter, play and enjoy themselves. And we want their new family to have as much reassurance as possible about their health. Both boys will be.... Neutered Fully vaccinated Given a full dental, including a clean and polish. Given full blood tests. Fully health checked by our vet. They currently have no known health issues.Toby & Milo are fussy, loving, friendly little boys who just want someone to give them the chance they deserve.
Could you open your home and heart to these two little gentlemen โ either as a foster home or their forever family?

Thai lad needs an understanding place as is is sensitive, although he has been well behaved since he has been in the system, there is some history, I can elaborate on with rescues.

Please retweet to help Little Boy, Kita, Saskia, Konan, Chinook and Odin, the six Husky x Malamute pups who have arrived safely into foster care #LEICESTER #UK
25 OCT 2026 ๐๐๐๐๐๐
These beautiful pups have come from awful conditions. They have never been out on walks, have lived in their own faeces and have had little to no socialisation with people or other dogs.
When we collected them, most were completely shut down. They froze when taken outside on a lead, and it was heartbreaking to see. They now have a chance to learn what it means to feel safe, loved and cared for.
All six are severely underweight, with a body condition score of just 1. They have a long road ahead, but we are determined to give them the happy, healthy lives they deserve.
WE URGENTLY NEED YOUR HELP!
We have already spent over ยฃ800 on their initial vaccinations and microchipping. They still need further vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, neutering, veterinary care and ongoing rehabilitation. With six pups to care for, the costs will quickly add up.
Please help us give these pups the fresh start they deserve. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a difference. If you cannot donate, please share!
