Excited to share that our work is online @cellhostmicrobe A small intestinal bile acid, taurodeoxycholic acid, is increased after sleeve gastrectomy and decreased in diabetic patients. It improves host metabolism by inhibiting the bacterial production of lithocholic acid.
Check out our new paper published @cellhostmicrobe! Lithocholic acid (LCA) is a metabolic toxin decreased by bariatric surgery. Taurodeoxycholic acid, which is increased by surgery, inhibits LCA production by microbes and has metabolic benefits.

Excited to share E3-substrate tagging by ubiquitin biotinylation (E-STUB) @nchembio! E-STUB enables CUL-RING ligase substrate identification and may transform the way we study glues and PROTACs by directly studying substrate ubiquitylation. 1/

Pls circulate! If anyone is interested in doing a postdoc in how the gut microbiome modulates metabolic disease, look no further than Dr. Snehal Chaudhari’s new lab @UWBiochem. Snehal is a FANTASTIC scientist and mentor so I highly recommend checking out her lab ☺️
Amazing work, @ZHauseman!! Congrats!
I’m excited to share that my (official and formatted!) paper has been published in @Nature. The manuscript is centered around a high-resolution structure of a key protein complex for activation of the MAPK pathway- the MRAS-SHOC2-PP1C holophosphatase.

Our paper "Selective Macrocyclic Inhibitors of DYRK1A/B" is out now in @ACSMedChemLett. Great to work on this med chem story with John Hatcher and team @DFCI_ChemBio. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs…
Great work, @miniboe!!
New paper online! cell.com/cell-host-microbe/f… (collaboration with Jun Huh's lab) describing how bacteria biosynthesize the bile acid metabolite isoalloLCA and how this molecule induces the development of regulatory T cells, and featuring lead co-authors @miniboe and @saiyu_hang (1/2)
Glad to see our story on selective degradation-inducing probes for studying cereblon (CRBN) biology out now in @rsc_medchem! Great to work with @GuangyanD, @JWBushman93, and the rest of the team at @DFCI_ChemBio.
