Excited to share that our work is online @cellhostmicrobe A small intestinal bile acid, taurodeoxycholic acid, is increased after sleeve gastrectomy and decreased in diabetic patients. It improves host metabolism by inhibiting the bacterial production of lithocholic acid.
Check out our new paper published @cellhostmicrobe! Lithocholic acid (LCA) is a metabolic toxin decreased by bariatric surgery. Taurodeoxycholic acid, which is increased by surgery, inhibits LCA production by microbes and has metabolic benefits. authors.elsevier.com/a/1jTSj……

Excited to share E3-substrate tagging by ubiquitin biotinylation (E-STUB) @nchembio! E-STUB enables CUL-RING ligase substrate identification and may transform the way we study glues and PROTACs by directly studying substrate ubiquitylation. 1/ rdcu.be/dBZKx

Very insightful study by @DFCI_ChemBio about reprogramming lenalidomide: it only takes a small library of IMiD glues screened against a matched pair of cells to identify a selective GSPT1 degrader. The SAR is steep but can be rationalized. @ACSBioMed pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs…

Medicinal chemists have long sought a pharmaceutical alternative to bariatric surgery to treat type II diabetes and researchers have now identified cholic acid-7-sulfate (CA7S) as a possible candidate. Check out the work that led to this finding: ow.ly/C7AU50ASVsW
