A huge problem with Protestantism right now culturally is that we will give Ryan airtime and not Scholastic Lutherans or Matt Hedges or Javier Perdomo or Jordan Cooper et al. Protestants tend to push Ryan types over those engaging with the sources.
Protestants need to be far more discerning about celebrating Joe Schmid's conversion to Catholicism.
He's sadly straight into bad theology from the get go. Take a look. And he's already vocal in telling people to "Embrace Rome."
This is the Rome that says "it is altogether necessary to salvation for every human creature to be subject to the Roman Pontiff." (Pope Boniface) and anathematizes justification by faith alone.
