The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice. Except it doesn’t bend on its own—it bends because we pull it in the direction of justice. What keeps me hopeful during times like these is being surrounded by people who are doing just that.

The man behind the digital ID push is Larry Ellison, owner of Oracle, CBS, CNN, and, soon, TikTok. He wants data centralization and total surveillance. "Citizens will be on their best behavior because we're constantly watching & recording everything that's going on." Terrifying.
And after the government combines your personal, banking, and voting data under a single digital ID, it will add social media and vaccine information. Same with Real ID in the US. The Censorship Industrial Complex was dress rehearsal for digital ID.

Cynicism is not a mark of intelligence. It's a defense mechanism to avoid being exploited. 192k adults, 30 countries: People with poor reasoning skills are more likely to see human nature as selfish and untrustworthy. A sign of wisdom is refusing to expect the worst in others.

Remote work doesn't thwart productivity. It boosts focus. Data: Government workers are 12% more productive when randomly assigned to work from home. They're more efficient where it's quiet. Most people aren't shirking from home. They're escaping distractions and long commutes.

"Necessity is the mother of invention" Being a little uncomfortable is good. It makes you think outside the box, it makes you think about options you wouldn't normally consider. This is the way it is in every aspect of life, even art. Artist's don't create something because it has been done before. They create something they feel the world needs or that they just have to get out of their head. Same with technologists. Same with everything.

New Taliban rule: Women are no longer allowed to be visible from house windows under any circumstance. If the kitchen has a window, women can't even cook near it. This comes after other rulings that women are forbidden from making sounds or even speaking to each other.

If you feed rodents heme iron with sunflower oil and then induce colon cancer, the cancer spreads rapidly. If you feed them heme with coconut oil, it doesn’t. Doesn’t get much simpler than that.

Second study in a week finds seed oils linked to cancer. Men with prostate cancer consuming the most seed oil had more aggressive tumors. With ~40% of cases under surveillance (no active treatment), this could be huge. We need more research on seed oil & cancer links NOW!

If you reduce visceral fat and improve muscle mass through a combination of a whole-food, high-protein, lower-carb diet, intermittent fasting, and resistance training, your body has no choice but to heal from all kinds of metabolic, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases! Don’t take my word for it; try it for yourself.

New study links seed oils to colon cancer. Resected tumors showed high levels of pro-inflammatory omega-6 fats and sphingomyelins. The mechanism may be as follows: -beta sitosterol (found in seed oils) boosts sphingomyelin production (a complex lipid), a precursor to ceramides.

Tim Farron, "The unpleasantness about this debate is only matched by the lack of proper information" #BBCQT "85% of refugees settle in the country next to where they come from" "The French take 3x more refugees than we do" "The Germans take 4x more refugees than we do" "If you put us back in the European Union, we are 19th in the league table when it comes to the number of refugees we take per capita" "Do we need deterrents? Yes. The best deterrents is competence. If we assess people when they arrive - and they are not illegal immigrants - they are people seeking asylum.. From Sudan.. Afghanistan.. Iran.. Syria.. 90%+ turn out to be genuine refugees" "If we have a competent government, and we haven't had one, let's see about this one.. And you assess them quickly.. And return the ones that are not refugees" "That is your deterrent" "Rwanda was a waste of money.. If they spent that money on case workers we could have processed these people, returned the ones that weren't refugees in a humane way, and let th eones who are genuine refugees, become British, pay their taxes, be part of our country, and we should be proud to admit them" Very well said @timfarron 👏
