Thanks @TorontoStar & @mahdishabibinia for this insightful piece clarifying @BradMBradford's & @fordnation's path to water privatization: "What qualifies as 'an agent' could be a private company, a public-private partnership like Metrolinx or the Canada Infrastructure Bank, which facilitates private investment in infrastructure projects." thestar.com/gift-redeem?t=e9… @cupelocal79 @Local416 #keepwaterpublic

Lula pulled off a historic comeback in Brazil. Despite right-wing voter suppression tactics deployed across the country, further online suppression by Meta, and the US backing his opponent, he’s projected to win 51-48.

I’ve been released from IDF custody with a “warning,” apparently because of my public profile (I told them I wasn’t even a congressmember yet, just a nominee). But several dozen rabbis & participants harvesting olives with me are still in detention. For harvesting olives. They should all be released immediately. To be clear: Palestinians face far worse consequences every day. These detentions by the IDF are one more attempt to undermine Palestinians’ right to harvest their olive groves, travel on their roads, and live in their homes. Yet one more element of escalating, and very clearly state-sponsored ethnic cleansing. We’ll update on their status as soon as we hear.

He says the name just fine when he’s begging the Qataris for a personal jet or the Saudis for funding for his son-in-law’s private equity firm. Wonder what’s changed?
Trump on El-Sayed: "His name is actually Abduladadalalalala. It's Adulbabababababa Mohammed Al-Sayed. So his middle name is Mohammed. So I was right. He's a jihadist."

If you're a Canadian worker, there's no better place than BC to do an hour's labour for an hour's pay. Since 2024 BC has boasted the highest hourly wage of any province (incl. imputed hourly pay for salaried staff). BC passed SK in 2019, Ont in 2023, and Alta in 2024. #bcpoli /2

Never a word about Saudi Arabia’s mass killings of Yemenis. This isn’t refraining from “lecturing countries from afar.” This is actively backing a criminal state to help deepen trade and investment with it.
The Houthi attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and in particular the strike on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, are abhorrent. There can be no justification for attacks on civilian infrastructure. No political or military objective can justify the deliberate targeting of innocent people. Canada condemns these reckless acts of violence in the strongest possible terms. We extend our deepest condolences to the families of those killed and wish a full recovery to those injured.

Nobody should be working yet not making ends meet. 🍂 This Thanksgiving, thousands of food hampers will be prepared for workers and their families who are struggling to pay their bills and keep a roof over their heads. We are in a crisis of decent work. Too many workers are forced into temporary and precarious jobs that don’t have benefits, don’t qualify for Employment Insurance (EI), and sometimes don’t even pay wages! And the Ontario Ministry of Labour is allowing this crisis to persist. That’s why we’re organizing to build a stronger movement 💪 for decent work to fight collectively for our rights and to make sure the government does its job. ✍️ Write to us now to join the movement: WorkersActionCentre.org/join… #DecentWork #StopWageTheft #Thanksgiving #Ontario

MPs are expected to vote on Bill C-39 today. The government says it will curb intervention in labour disputes. But it will likely do the opposite: make it easier for the minister to end strikes and shift power away from workers. theconversation.com/canadas-… #canlab #cdnpoli
