I ran an experiment: Spent $20k on Facebook ads and $20k on cold email. Here's what happened:

Eric definitely didn't give up lead-gen, but I do think it is an interesting sign-of-the-times for pure cold email agencies.
To everyone saying Eric "gave up" on lead gen for going back to Clay: He is going to make more money than 99% of you there, while his team gets more upside in the incredible agency he built. If you saw what I saw, you'd feel foolish for saying that.

I love Daniel and he’s a fellow runner but asking for money online (as a seemingly well off person) makes me cringe. I know I’m probably alone in this take!
If 75,000 of you send me $1 on @XMoney I can go buy a Tesla Cybertruck and never get stuck in the Charleston floods ever again

> brute force a few sales to get the ball rolling > “build the plane while flying” on ops. Document the playbook. > use margin to invest in highest probability lead-gen ( diff for every market) > sell your ass off > use margin to replace yourself from ops > become capital allocator and people manager

“Greatness”sounds like a massive burden every time I hear what it took. Massive leap between success and greatness.
Urban Meyer says the internal pressure of coaching at the highest level became so extreme it almost killed him “I was an extremist. There were potholes in my career. It wasn’t really the outside pressure. It was the internal pressure that was overwhelming.” “It was fear. It was letting people down. When you’re a head coach at a place, you’ve got 50 to 100 people, families working for you. You have 100 players counting on you. You have this giant alumni base. Gator Nation, Buckeye Nation, whatever it is.” “When you sit and take that deep breath, you’re like, ‘Oh man. This is overwhelming.’ If something was out of line, I really struggled with that. It became miserable.” “I would try to take the foot off the accelerator at times, and I saw the product start to slip. So I’d jump right back in as that maniac. I was in almost all meetings. I was involved in everything. To the point it almost killed me.” “For high-performance people, it’s... I don’t want to say a disease because that’s strong, it’s an addiction... But that’s what fuels the greatness.”

One of the biggest misconceptions when doing seller outreach is that these owners "love their business"

Making your own money is not easy - online or not. But it beats the alternative imo

🚨🚨GOOD GUY ALERT🚨🚨 I would go to war for my talent, & they'd do the same for me. When I just want to roll over and quit - I know they are counting on me and believe in me

If you're a Padres fan, yesterdays game 1 might have been the coolest game ever: > First pitch homer by Tatis > Machado homers right after - place is ROCKING > No-no attempt through 6 1/3, 1 hitter through 7 > Tatis scoring from first on a stolen base > Musgrove coming back and getting out of a bases loaded jam > 8-0 shutout win
