At Cascade Camp we ate food that was grown on the land there at @elkenmist, pooped in compost buckets that returned that food to the soil, and in between we pondered orbs and talked about computers.

It’s just-post-AGI 2037. You get woken up in your tent by the sound of birds and leaves rustling in the wind.
Was the poetry reading before or after breakfast today? You fumble for your foldable e-ink “Schedule & Map of Permanent Vibecamp.”
Oh! Someone added “having a job improv larp VII” at 11am. That was fun last time.
You’re stretching your aching arms and notice that you’re still wearing that bracelet the little girl gave you yesterday (“CAN•WE•BE•CLAUDES”)
The day ahead promises to be just like the others in one sense, and yet completely new and full of surprises in another.
You never thought you could surround yourself with so many friends. What a privilege to say that you got used to being happy.
Sure, some people have a bad time. “Bad prompt, bad trip”, as they say.
But you’re glad that you ended up here. In retrospect it should have been clear that the ones who never really fit in during the Last Stagnation would be the ones who were the most prepared.
The smell of waffles mixes with last night’s memory of campfire smoke, as you ponder the role of the storyteller. The forest, and the whole world, really, a much gentler place now than when we first made fire.
But just as exciting as ever to explore, and more importantly, to invent. An abundance empty pages is met with an abundance of authors. And everyone still writes their own story.
You think of your first vibecamp many years ago. Your then-new friend was playing some jazz, pointing out how Coltrane was able to take an original tune and convert it into this much looser, freer, yet more refined journey, still returning to and caring to remind you of its base material, its human lineage. That’s kind of what we all do now.
You stumble towards the cafeteria as your toes get wet from the dewy grass. Remember to not accidentally pick the spicy syrup again.
Adventure awaits.
