“I voted in 2023 and my vote didn’t count, so I’m not voting again.”
But you failed JAMB and rewrote it three times.
You failed two courses and rewrote the exams.
Now that it’s something that doesn’t just affect you but also your family and everything in your life, you can’t do it again.
You see how foolish you sound?

God, whatever you are doing between 2026 and 2027, let me and my family be on this list.
Canada's Immigration Levels Plan reveals that the country will welcome 380,000 new permanent residents every year from 2027 to 2029.
In 2027 alone, the total quota is actually up to 580,000 new PRs. Below is what this means.
Canada’s 2027 - 2029 Immigration Levels Plan
On November 05, 2026, Canada released the details of the 2027-2029 Immigration Levels Plan. The plan includes temporary resident targets for new arrivals of international students and temporary workers, along with permanent resident targets
Targets for new temporary resident arrivals will stabilize at 370,000 per year for all three years of the 2027-2029 Levels Plan.
Overall permanent resident admissions will remain at 380,000 per year for all three years of the 2027-2029 Levels Plan. However, in 2027 alone, there is a time-limited measure of up to 200,000 additional spaces for permanent residence for certain applicants who are already in Canada.
French-speaking permanent resident admissions outside Quebec will be 9.5% in 2027, 10.5% in 2028, and 12% in 2029.
➡️ Permanent Resident Target for Economic Immigrants
Federal High Skilled (Express Entry) has the highest quota of 100,000 new PRs, followed by Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) with 95,000 new PRs.
What the Economic Immigrants quota means is that Express Entry will continue to welcome the highest number of new economic immigrants, followed by Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs).
➡ The annual 100,000 federal high-skilled quota will include candidates invited through various Express Entry Draws, such as CEC, the French-language category, Healthcare, Social Services, Trades, and other eligible occupation categories.
➡ The annual 95,000 Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) quota will be distributed among all the provinces with a PNP pathway. Provinces will then set the criteria for nominating eligible candidates.
➡ Under the 2027 Economic Immigrants quota, other permanent residence pathways include the Federal Business (1,500), Federal Economic Pilots (7,900 quota), Rural Community Immigration Program - RCIP (5,500 quota), and Atlantic Immigration Program - AIP (6,000 quota).
➡️ Permanent Resident Target for Family Class Applications
Spouses, Partners, and Children have been assigned a quota of 66,000 new PRs under the Family Class, followed by Parents and Grandparents with 15,000 new PRs.
Examples of candidates under the Family Class applications include spouses, common-law partners, and dependent children sponsored for permanent residence by eligible Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
➡ The annual quota for this remains the same from 2027 to 2029.
➡ The Parents and Grandparents program is not currently accepting new applications; existing applications are being processed to fill the quota.
➡️ Permanent Resident Target for Refugees, Protected Persons, and H&C Applications
The remaining part of the 380,000 multi-year immigration quota is allocated to Refugees, Protected Persons, and applicants for permanent residence in Canada under Humanitarian and Compassionate grounds.
This includes human rights defenders in need of protection, as well as LGBTQI+ individuals; persons selected on humanitarian and compassionate grounds, for reasons of public policy, and in the permit holder class.
➡️ Additional 200,000 Permanent Residence Quota for people already in Canada
In addition to the 380,000 quota in the new Immigration Levels Plan, Canada is introducing measures that support the transition to permanent residence for people who are already living in Canada and fulfill certain humanitarian commitments.
The time-limited measures for 2027 will create up to 200,000 additional spaces.
Out of this, 100,000 additional spaces are for workers already in Canada.
The eligible workers must be:
- waiting for a decision on their permanent residence application under select programs that are now closed to new applications, including: Start-Up Visa Program; Self-Employed Persons Program; Agri-Food Pilot; Home Care Workers (Caregivers) or
- eligible to apply for permanent residence through the Provincial Nominee Program
The remaining 100,000 additional spaces under the time-limited measures for 2027 are for specific humanitarian populations.
This includes those who applied under the Permanent residence pathways for Hong Kong residents that closed on August 31, 2026, and those who applied under the Permanent residence for Ukrainian nationals with family members in Canada pathway that closed on October 22, 2024.
➡️ Temporary Resident Target
The temporary residents target includes the number of new international students and new workers who will be admitted from 2027 to 2029.
Targets for new temporary resident arrivals will stabilize annually at 370,000 for all three years of the 2027-2029 Levels Plan.
Workers are expected to represent approximately 60% of new arrivals over the course of the Plan, and students approximately 40%.
For workers, targets are allocated under the International Mobility Program and the Temporary Foreign Worker Program.
➡️ One-time initiative from 2026.
IRCC is also on track to complete the one-time initiatives that were introduced in 2026. The one-time initiative includes:
➡ In-Canada Workers Initiative that is accelerating permanent residence for 33,000 workers who are already contributing to Canadian communities in in-demand sectors, with a particular focus on those living in smaller communities.
➡ Processing permanent residence applications from up to 115,000 eligible protected persons and their in-Canada dependants. Protected persons have recognized protected status in Canada and can’t return safely to their country of origin.
The 2027 to 2029 journey has officially started; wishing you all the best in the application process.

Let's talk about INEC.
Why can't INEC chairman be elected by the people, because there's nothing independent about INEC if her chairman is nominated by the President.
