they do not get paid for any of this. be kind, patient, and respectful to the volunteers who work hard to keep ao3 running, fight against censorship, and protect writers, fanfics, and people’s rights/freedom to write whatever they want, however they want

sure, they “got america ready for the 20th century” via rampant wealth inequality and pushing back against regulation at the expense of the workers whose backs their wealth was built on! it’s not like the gilded age directly led to labour movements bc the conditions were so bad
