APPTN (“Option”) is running at RenewTest in Pampa, Texas.
Towed from our San Diego factory to begin performance testing under the NLR @NatLabRockies DOE @ENERGY-funded CIP certification grant.

San Diego → Arizona → New Mexico → Texas – the vast landscapes are both stunning and remarkably different... also, holy shit, there's a lot of stuff being moved across the US. 3 out of every 4 vehicles are tractor-trailers, plus miles of trains
Used it this morning to reignite the pilot light in my water heater that was being stubborn. Followed an unobvious protocol and it worked on the first try.

the rate of innovation is so far beyond anything that’s come before. it’s both exciting and scary. any issue experienced today is likely to be resolved in days or weeks. saved threads and articles that are >1mo old can assume to be no longer relevant. wild times.
"I just love it!" my 81yo dad talking about AI "it's like I'm sitting here with 3 engineers but it would've taken a whole day of meetings to do what I just did in an hour with ChatGPT, and I don't have to pay them."
Should we aim to normalize Supercross/Motocross-only contracts and then have SMX be a true playoff between the respective series?
I think this would help recruit more international talent, address rider and fan fatigue, and create more interest in the playoffs.
Turns out Di2 isn't infallible. One of my 8150 Ultegra shifters stopped communicating and is now a fancy paperweight. Shoutout to Cal Bike for getting a warranty replacement from Shimano despite being a year out of warranty.
the single biggest bottleneck to innovation is access to power.
where will we get all of the electrons to support the AI / robotics / electrification transition?
there is no singular answer. what we do know is that nothing scales faster than renewables.
there have also been advancements in distributed energy resources #DERs: solar, small-wind, and batteries.
the key is matching the generation and storage to the demand and the resource.
with data centers coming online faster than new utility-scale plants, the conversation we need to have is how to supply homes and small- and medium-sized businesses via DERs, so they’re not competing with hyperscalers for the same grid.
Reminds me of something I shared a while back teapaw.org/_jonnyknight/status/20…
Earth is just one of about 100 billion planets in our galaxy, which is just one of about two trillion galaxies in the universe. And our lifetimes are only about 1/3,000 of humanity's existence, which itself is only 1/20,000 of the Earth's existence.
In other words, we are unbelievably tiny and short-lived and no matter what we accomplish, our impact will be insignificant.
At the same time, we instinctually want to matter and to evolve, and we can matter a tiny bit--and it's all those tiny bits that add up to drive the evolution of the universe. #principleoftheday
