I defended my PhD! Thanks to @kchonyc, @erichorvitz, and @ylecun for making it to such an important milestone for me and the post-defense grilling! And of course, Rajesh Ranganath and Sumit Chopra for guiding me throughout my journey! I'll be joining @Columbia as a postdoc next

A molecule can bind the right protein and still be the wrong drug. Why? Because it might also bind proteins we don't want it to, potentially causing serious side effects. 📄 Paper: arxiv.org/abs/2610.24124

Researchers have developed an AI-based approach to help physicians with real-life clinical workups, starting with the patient’s chief complaint, systematically asking questions and deciding what laboratory and imaging tests to order, and then continuing the evaluation on the basis of the answers received. Just published @ScienceMagazine Higher medical accuracy at lower cost A 3-agent AI for sequential diagnosis nearly doubled accuracy compared with physicians for >300 @NEJM CPC cases and >300 ER cases AND substantially lowered cost, also exceeded performance of many AI models, physicians plus AI @HarshaNori @erichorvitz @Dominic1King @mustafasuleyman

There has been a significant expansion in access to electricity for Indian households over the last three decades. Access is now widespread across the country, with most states having provided electricity to over 95% of households. However, having an electricity connection doesn't guarantee reliable service. Households can still face challenges with frequent power cuts, voltage fluctuations and inconsistent supply. To understand how many Indian households are using electricity regularly, we look at data from the Household Consumption Expenditure Surveys, which ask households about their primary energy source for lighting. In 1983, more than eight in ten rural households primarily used kerosene to light their homes. That share was down to virtually zero by 2024. Electricity lights most Indian homes now. The households who do not yet use electricity are concentrated in India’s poorest communities. Over one in six of the poorest rural households did not have access to electricity as of 2021. #Electricity #Power #Lighting #India #DataForIndia

Just when it seems the Delhi Police cannot possibly commit any further atrocities, another video emerges that is even more horrifying. It now appears that the police themselves are more dangerous than the goons. #JudicialCustody

Exclusive: Wearing a tilak and donning an orange scarf is Deepak Sisodia, one of the right-wing goons who was seen brandishing lathis, abusing women and making provocative, communal remarks over the weekend where anti-Gyanesh protests were held. He also went viral for making remarks against women saying "these girls are sold for Rs 300." But who is he and what do we know about him?

I have discovered $50 amazon photo frames to be the PERFECT home display screen They can be rooted, updated to run a modern browser, have WiFi and can be powered from USB 1280×800 resolution with a nice touch screen I detailed how to hack these yourself in my latest video wesbos.com/hacking-smart-pho…

@kimiahmdh is presenting "Domain-Aware Scaling Laws Uncover Data Synergy": extends Chinchilla by adding pairwise domain interactions to the scaling law. Fitted observationally across 52 open-weight LLMs, it recovers known (+ unexpected!) domain synergies arxiv.org/abs/2607.11052

Why is protein watermarking possible? - A protein can be represented as a string y over an alphabet of 20 amino acids. - We have good "language" models for generating proteins with desired functions. - We have techniques for watermarking language models like synthid-text. 1/n
Today in @Nature, we introduce SynthID Bio, a family of watermarking methods for protein sequences and structures, that we believe will contribute to responsible development of AI for biology. Learn more in our blog and this thread 🧵 - deepmind.google/blog/introdu…

Sorry to interrupt your Sunday, friends. I really hesitated to write this, but if I don’t speak up today, I will be facing a severe financial crisis within a week or two. To be clear, I am not asking for charity or financial help. I am asking for work. I have been completely without work for the last three months. My last project ended on June 30th, and since then I have knocked on every door I know—calling, texting, meeting contacts, and following up. People say they will try, but after that first talk, the silence takes over. Calls go unanswered or get cut after a couple of rings. I honestly don't know whether the industry is shifting because of AI or if my age (52) is working against me, but despite over 13 years of solid experience in the field, nothing has materialized. Now, my savings are down to the very end. I can barely hold out for another week or two. I am a professional content writer, translator, and speaker who is comfortable on stage and in front of the camera. I write and translate fluently across Gujarati, Hindi, and English, with Gujarati being my strongest suit. Many of you already know my grasp of politics and my political writing, but I am equally adept at covering Bollywood and cricket. My priority is media houses, digital platforms, or publications, but I am open to any genuine writing or translation opportunity. I can work remotely or take up assignments on-site anywhere in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, as I need to be close to my elderly mother to take care of her health. Because my situation is urgent, I am especially looking for quick-turnaround freelance assignments or immediate projects where payments can be settled on submission. If you or anyone in your circle has work, please reach out to me directly in my DMs. A humble, earnest request: while I deeply value your warmth, please refrain from sending just "best wishes" or "stay strong" messages right now. I am fighting hard to stay out of a very dark headspace, and right now, only actual work leads can pull me through. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for your support. My inbox is open. 🙏

Moving from individual proofs to large-scale autoformalization requires new tools. We introduce Choir, an open protocol for multi-agent autoformalization that decomposes projects into tasks, coordinates contributions through GitHub, and deterministically checks them before merging. Choir is modular, open source, and supports Lean 4, Isabelle, and Rocq. Repository: github.com/Weber-GeoML/Choir Preprint: arxiv.org/abs/2609.31903 Led by @yidi_qi. Supported by @darpa expMath.
