Love how mature Nyoni was to “extinguish” this transition.
Good positioning, prepares himself well to react, swift on the turn, then doesn’t rush into the challenge. Instead, he looks to get on the goal side, delay and allow his teammates to recover before committing. Maybe an extra second was needed for Jacquet to get closer, but still, Nyoni doesn’t fully sell himself there.
Wins the ball back and ends the sequence with a no-look pass.

thoughts on the team:
we have one pivot player i want starting in a year. he is 19.
we have no fullbacks i want starting even now.
we have no creative players.
quality of IP coaching is immaterial in comparison to these issues. there is no coach that could enable a team...
like ours to win consistently, and the team should not be expected to do that atm. this should have been considered a given at the start of the season imo. my expectations have always been quite reasonable, we are a 3rd-6th place team and we play like a 3rd-5th place team.
The list of midfielders who I think could even possibly match his average progressive responsibility is shrinking FAST
We have reached a concerning point where Gakpo is our best creator. We are crying out for someone good at ts.

Say one thing for Szoboszlai, say he's a tryhard. Say one thing for Barcola, say he's wasteful.
End of notes for the first half.
Been seeing this account on my timeline for the past few weeks and wow
Almost our best possible lineup in terms of buildup ability. We should have a good game here but we have one single creative player.
This is how #they want every black player to be talking
