I’m only going to watch the news a bit longer. Then I’m going to do my self-care practices to help manage my anxiety. Turn off the news, do activities I enjoy, journal about my feelings rather than bottle them up, take a bath, drink lots of water, go to sleep.

Oh and every time I start to worry about what’s happening, I will categorize the worries into “productive worries” (I need to figure out what to eat for dinner tonight) vs unproductive worries (worry about everything out of my control or scenarios that may or may not happen)

Sharing this in case you’re like me and didn’t know how to take care of yourself during times of crisis. I understand the need to watch the news (as I’ve been doing nonstop for 5 hours) but at some point it becomes too much and it’s time to focus on what I can control - myself.
