We called @TDATWfilm our #1 movie of 2020 awhile back & now tweets have been backing that up...
“One of the best horror films ever made”
“the most unsettling film I've seen in a while”
“THE DARK AND THE WICKED, the greatest horror film of 2020”
“Best horror movie of the year.” – at Miami, FL

A truly scary meditation on grief, mortality and anguish, THE DARK AND THE WICKED is Bryan Bertino reminding the horror world that he can still go with the best of them. It also feels very much like a film made as a response to the post-HEREDITARY reality of "elevated horror."

The Dark and the Wicked by Bryan Bertino is seriously sinister.
I did not shift position over the entire film.
Highly recommend

Viewing No. 2 of THE DARK AND THE WICKED has confirmed for me that it is one of my favorite movies of the year. And easily the best (and scariest) horror film of 2020.

I watched The Dark And The Wicked last night and loved it. Highly recommend. Would make a great triple feature alongside The Witch and Hereditary. Directed by Bryan Bertino, who also directed one of my all-time favorite horror films, The Strangers.

Another soothing evening at @BeyondFest watching THE DARK AND THE WICKED. Here's my reaction to this film. Thank you, Beyond Fest, @am_cinematheque, @RLJEfilms. I'm serious. I was screaming in the car.

@TDATWfilm: I’ve never seen ANYTHING like it. Easy one of Top 5 horror/psycho thrillers of ALL TIME. It absolutely blew EVERYTHING out of the water at #Fantasia2020.#BryanBertino is a master. #MarinIreland & #MichaelAbbottJr are incredibly stunning. This is the future of horror.

Wondering what to see at #ArrowFrightFest? I strongly recommend THE DARK AND THE WICKED, which was one of the best (and my favourite straight-up horror) at Fantasia2020 this year. It’s REALLY good. See my review below: whitlockandpope.com/2020/09/…
