It wasn’t Sandy Hook that normalized children dying from mass shootings. It was Wounded Knee, Dec 29, 1890. — Let’s be honest. – at Los Angeles, CA

🧵#EastHighSchool: The SRO debate is a textbook example of the always tense relationship between what is considered good politics and good public policy. Politics is naturally reactive and we are seeing that played out right now in the aftermath of the East High shootings. 1/6

It’s clear that “woke” is just another word for anything white people don’t like, agree with, or want to change. And that’s the problem with whiteness: it wants power in and over everything. It ain’t healthy or loving to be that bigoted and angry about everything.

Whiteness assigns corporate responsibility to every other people group for that groups perceived wrongs. While Refusing any kind of corporate responsibility for the wrongs of white people. White people are individuals; People of color are a group. This is how whiteness works.

Part of how whiteness works is: 1. Black people are held responsible for other Black people (i.e. 'what about Black on Black crime', etc) but 2. If I say "white people have a white supremacy prob" it's assumed I'm talking about other white people not myself. Do you see?

Thoughts about public space during Denver election season… 1) if you don’t want people peeing or pooping in public - make public restrooms widely available (24/7). Restroom access is as much about the potty training toddler/family as it is public urination/dedication. (1/5)

Bring L & X-Large thermal sets to the parking lot behind Network Coffee House (1402 Pearl Street in Denver), accessible from 14th Street. 11am to 1pm on Thanksgiving Day. We'll provide sets to folks who need 'em and donate the rest to service providers who can distribute them.

The most powerful tool of oppression is keeping you so busy with the daily struggle that you don’t have the time to connect all the dots and become truly enraged.

Y'all ever seen this? It's the largest iconic display of the Middle Passage in the world, and it's in a church on the west side of Chicago.

You can tell a lot about who we care for based on who is allowed to grieve and be angry without the fear of silencing and retaliation.
