With the rise of content creation, I’m increasingly anxious about how social media companies store the insane amount of content uploaded every second. YouTube and TikTok especially, hundreds of hours of HD video are uploaded every minute. Their data centres are already massive and keep expanding daily. Do we eventually reach a point where there’s simply not enough space for them? And what about the enormous amount of energy and resources required to store, manage and cool all those servers? The more I think about it, the more my head spirals 😭

My GitHub repos started force-pushing themselves. .env stripped from .gitignore, config.bat dropped in. Not GitHub. Malware on my machine stole my tokens. Force-push preserves the original commit. You won't notice. Rotate everything. #BuildInPublic #DevSecOps #CyberSecurity

No, GitHub isn't "hacked" the way people mean it. Your laptop probably is. Engineers go check. It takes twenty minutes. #GitHub #DevSecOps #CyberSecurity

Cleaning the repos does nothing if the credential is still valid. Kill the credential first.
5
5. Check for stray .bat files, git hooks and .vscode/tasks.json entries 6.Branch protection on. Force pushes off. 7.Move CI to OIDC instead of long-lived secrets
9
3. Audit authorized GitHub Apps and OAuth apps — tokens are not the only door 4.Audit your editor extensions. Uninstall anything you don't actively use

What I did, and what you should do today: 1.Revoke every PAT and SSH key 2.Revoke active sessions, rotate your password, enforce 2FA
6
Removing .env from .gitignore isn't vandalism. It's patient. They're waiting for you to commit your secrets yourself.
7
The nasty part: Force-pushing preserves the original commit message, author name and timestamp. No pull request. No new commit in the UI. Nothing looks wrong. You will not notice.
8
Malware — often shipped through poisoned VS Code and Cursor extensions — sits on your machine and harvests GitHub tokens. git credential storage. ~/.git-credentials. GITHUB_TOKEN in your env. Then it force-pushes payloads into every repo that account can write to.

A monolith isn't bad architecture. It's simply an application where different parts of the system live and deploy together. Simple to build. Simple to deploy. The problem starts when the codebase grows without clear boundaries. That's where things get messy... A thread👇👇

There was a time my friend, who writes Rust, was earning $8k/month from Nigeria. I said say less… I started learning Rust. Two months later, they lost their job and couldn’t find another one for months. Another time I heard people were making crazy money with Solidity. I jumped on that too. At some point I had a reason to switch to every language 😭 But then I stuck with and went deep with the language I chose and it has kept me busy for years. The point is, you’ll get distracted, tempted, and see shiny things everywhere. You better focus. If you don’t, you’ll keep restarting your career every 6 months.

Kiro has three types of Specs and they each solve a different problem 👀 • Feature Spec greenfield work, requirements → design → tasks • Design-first Spec already have a stack? Kiro meets you there. • Bugfix Spec what’s broken, what the fix is, and what must NOT change (with property-based tests for all three) Read up → kiro.dev/blog/specs-bugfix-a…

There are certain people in the tech space or generally who do not have a career plan. No strategy or direction. All they want is a gig and short term wins. Don’t be that person. Be intentional about where you’re going, or you’ll wake up years later still starting over.

Quitting your job with no backup can be necessary… but let’s not romanticize it like it’s some soft life decision. It’s a high risk move.
