With the rise of content creation, I’m increasingly anxious about how social media companies store the insane amount of content uploaded every second. YouTube and TikTok especially, hundreds of hours of HD video are uploaded every minute. Their data centres are already massive and keep expanding daily. Do we eventually reach a point where there’s simply not enough space for them? And what about the enormous amount of energy and resources required to store, manage and cool all those servers? The more I think about it, the more my head spirals 😭

A monolith isn't bad architecture. It's simply an application where different parts of the system live and deploy together. Simple to build. Simple to deploy. The problem starts when the codebase grows without clear boundaries. That's where things get messy... A thread👇👇

There was a time my friend, who writes Rust, was earning $8k/month from Nigeria. I said say less… I started learning Rust. Two months later, they lost their job and couldn’t find another one for months. Another time I heard people were making crazy money with Solidity. I jumped on that too. At some point I had a reason to switch to every language 😭 But then I stuck with and went deep with the language I chose and it has kept me busy for years. The point is, you’ll get distracted, tempted, and see shiny things everywhere. You better focus. If you don’t, you’ll keep restarting your career every 6 months.

Kiro has three types of Specs and they each solve a different problem 👀 • Feature Spec greenfield work, requirements → design → tasks • Design-first Spec already have a stack? Kiro meets you there. • Bugfix Spec what’s broken, what the fix is, and what must NOT change (with property-based tests for all three) Read up → kiro.dev/blog/specs-bugfix-a…

There are certain people in the tech space or generally who do not have a career plan. No strategy or direction. All they want is a gig and short term wins. Don’t be that person. Be intentional about where you’re going, or you’ll wake up years later still starting over.

Quitting your job with no backup can be necessary… but let’s not romanticize it like it’s some soft life decision. It’s a high risk move.

What are developers saying about Kiro? 🤔 Amarinder Singh went from 7-week prototype cycles to something much faster with structured planning, auto-updating specs, and code that actually matches the original vision. How much time are you losing to unstructured code?

Since we’re on this topic…. Andrej Karpathy coined the term "vibe coding" in February 2025, and it was never meant to describe what software engineers do. He created it to describe a workflow where non-programmers describe what they want in plain English, an AI generates the code, and they accept the output based on "vibes" rather than actually reviewing it. Even Karpathy himself positioned it as a tool for prototypes and throwaway builds. Not production software. Not applications real users depend on. For an actual software engineer, that concept doesn't really apply. When you know how systems work, how code behaves, and what can go wrong, you can't fully "vibe" even if you tried. Your engineering instinct kicks in automatically. You're reviewing, questioning, adjusting. That's just how you're wired at this point. So the more accurate distinction is: Vibe coders = non-engineers using AI to build things they don't understand, end to end. Engineers using AI = Engineers using tools to move faster while still owning the output completely. They are not the same thing and they shouldn't share the same label. Which is why anytime I see a software engineer proudly say they "vibe coded" something, I begin to suspect them. 🌚 Because for a software engineer what this means is you’re admitting you didn’t properly review what you shipped or you’re misusing the term entirely. Either way, suspicious. 🌚
Please don’t vibecode financial related applications 🙏🏼 It is a sin to mankind!

Brotherly, please don’t pressure anyone. A lot of teenagers and Gen Z are burning out because of this constant pressure to “achieve alot” early. The timeline obsession is real, millionaire at 21, founder at 23, retired at 30. Your 20s are not primarily for chasing money, and I buy into that train of thought. They’re for building capacity. Capacity means skills. Discipline. Emotional intelligence. Network. Health. Taste. Judgment. The kind of foundation that doesn’t crack under pressure. Money and capacity are not the same thing. If you focus on building real capacity in your 20s, the compounding effect shows up in your 30s. You move smarter. You earn better. You take calculated risks instead of desperate ones. So, Please and please, BREATHE!
Ahh You need to start planning your life at 16 😭 I am 21, a certified Software Engineer, BSc in Unilag, 3 years tech experience, and still life dey touch me, if you don't come with a silver spoon, you can't afford to slack - Work and chase your degrees at the same time - Study every day even if your work is choking - Learn from other people's mistakes - Listen to Podcasts - Delete Instagram, TikTok, and use only X and LinkedIn - Speakup!
