If academia is going to suggest this isn’t plagiarism, it might as well fully embrace AI drafted research (well everything really), sign their own redundancy cheques and shut the door on the way out. Oh, and all the students who’ve been penalised for far less than this need to bring legal action. Of course it’s plagiarism.

One reason we cannot have nice things.
Why has Kent's NHS bill for ADHD and autism soared from £640k to £29m? kentonline.co.uk/kent/news/w… "45-fold in just two years." Let the explanations begin...

Nine Christians murdered in Jordan. No relentless sharing of their faces. None of you know their names.
@bbcnews couldn't even be bothered to tell you that two more died of their wounds.
An attack on Christians in Jordan does not fit their narrative. So it must be swept aside.

In 1977, Iranian Islamists and leftists joined forces in Paris to bring down the Shah.
Two of my uncles took opposite roads for the same revolution. One was a radical Maoist who went to China to learn to handle a weapon so he could bring down the monarchy. The other went to Paris to study, where he became a radical Khomeinist.
Fresh out of the Maoist camps, my communist uncle moved to Paris in 1978 to join his brother.
Once the clerics had seized total power, they put him and his comrades against the wall of a white-tiled room and executed them. In the following years, thousands of communists who had believed they were using the Khomeinists for their agenda learned how naive they were. The regime sent my family photographs of my uncle’s bullet-riddled body. The family had to pay so-called bullet money before they were allowed to bury him. I found the pictures years later, snooping through my mother’s things.
My zealous uncle went to war, leading one of the units the regime sent into Saddam Hussein’s minefields. The Islamic Republic sent young boys ahead of them as human mine-clearers, plastic keys to paradise dangling from their necks. My uncle stepped on a mine and came home in a small box.

An oldie but a goodie. In 1968 a bunch of entitled hippy bastards sent a letter detailing their specious demands to the Warden and Fellows of Wadham College, Oxford. This was their letter of reply, which speaks to how far the academy has since fallen.

What a courageous woman Sarah Redvers is.
This is the greatest medical scandal of our lifetime.
‘In the financial year 2024-25, WellBN issued hormone prescriptions to close to 1,100 individuals under the age of 25. At least 97 were under 18. That amounted to 15 per cent of all testosterone prescriptions issued for under-18s across the whole of London and the southeast. For 18 to 20-year-olds, the figure was a quarter.’
Thank you @hannahsbee for your consistent scrutiny.

Anyone who argues this is a "movement", something they presume to patronise and hope to channel in a constructive direction, is an irrelevant and irresponsible buffoon.
This is teenagers and looters enjoying liberation from the normal rules. They don't give a fig for your flag.

I am astonished to read that Hall has not already been suspended.
If not suspended, where is she now and what diagnostic and clinical functions is she effecting and to/for whom?
What, if any, restrictions have been placed on her?
If none, why & how are there none?
‘For Cass, the scandal that has unfolded in Brighton “dwarfs” that of the Tavistock’s Gids. She called on the GMC to immediately suspend Hall. “I really would want to ask why he still has a licence to practise.”’

🚨Hilary Cass has called for an independent inquiry into how Brighton GPs were allowed to prescribe cross-sex hormones to children as young as 12.“There urgently needs to be an investigation of why every system that should have protected children, young people, and indeed young adults has failed,” she told me.
The employment tribunal between Dr Sarah Redvers and NHS Sussex has highlighted how regulators and the NHS collectively failed to stop prescribing of puberty blockers and hormones against national guidelines - for years - and how instead the person raising concerns was accused of transphobia and herself investigated.
Dr Redvers sat down with me for her only newspaper interview about her treatment in a scandal which, Cass now says, “dwarfs” that of the Tavistock’s GIDS.

Well @EdwardJDavey ? You profited from Heather's persecution, so how you sleep at night, I will never know!
SHE DIED WAITING
Heather Earley, mother of three, has died waiting for her money. @PostOffice kept her waiting so long she ran out of time. Impressive logistics.
Lawyer @SimonMGoldberg (well worth to give him a follow) shared the sad news today.
Heather Earley was one of 555 postmasters who took the Post Office to the High Court and won, and she died before getting her redress, the money owed to put her life back together.
He points to a @BBCNews article from 2024 on victims who died before getting redress. Winning in court and never seeing the money is a rare talent.
Heather Earley was a mother of three who ran a local shop with a Post Office counter in Mossley, Newtownabbey, in Northern Ireland. In December 2013 the Horizon computer system said she was £10,000 short. A computer said so, and in the Post Office computers are never wrong..
She says one customer kept using a flaw in the system. Every time that customer withdrew £100, the system added £100 to the balance instead of taking it off. I wish my bank worked like that.
Heather Earley called the police, and the customer was prosecuted and convicted. That put the blame on the customer, and the Post Office still demanded the £10,000 from her, took money from her wages and refused to give it back even after the conviction. Crime solved, victim billed ...
She borrowed from family and maxed out three credit cards just to buy stock for the shop. She cashed in £50,000 of her pension to save the house and clear her debts. Her village lost its post office and its shop, a truly generous service to the community.
In 2019 the Post Office settled the group case for £57.75M. Around £46M went on legal and funding costs, which left roughly £20,000 for each of the 555 people. The judge, Mr Justice Peter Fraser, had said the Post Office at times acted as though it answered only to itself, and it seems to have taken that as a challenge.
Reports say at least 350 Horizon victims have died before their final payouts, so at this pace the scheme will finish the moment nobody is left to be paid.
Heather Earley wanted justice and enough money to rebuild what was left of her life. Simon Goldberg says the lawyers and other parties who held up and nickel and dimed her redress should feel nothing but shame, though shame does not appear to be billable. Stop fighting these people and pay them before it is too late.
Heather Earley never got her cheque.
RIP Heather

There’s a thing called “cocktail eyes” - when you’re talking to someone and they’re already scanning the room for someone more important.
A lot of our politicians have cocktail eyes about the job itself. And we're the ones they're ignoring.
Local councillors who bang on about Palestine are treating their actual role (bins, hedges, planning, antisocial behaviour - the local good) as beneath them. National politicians who treat e.g. Net Zero as a chance to be “world leaders” are doing the same thing at a bigger scale: chasing status and smugness instead of the national good (energy abundance and security).
In both cases they need to put their eyes back in the room and focus on the people they are meant to serve. As Collingwood says, that alone would radically alter our country.
Read all of this. It is more important than you think. Wayne Dixon is a councillor in Leeds. He doesn't get involved in foreign policy issues. No standing with Ukraine or Palestine or Israel or wherever. He doesn't even get involved much in national issues. He just focusses, laser like, on doing small things that make the lives of his local constituents better. Cleaning up footpaths covered in wet leaves. Harassing the local authorities until they fix potholes. Cleaning up graffiti. Trimming hedges so they look neat and tidy. Liaising with the police to deal with antisocial behaviour. Ensuing that the local schools have enough places for every local who wants to send their kids there. Getting bus stops put in the right place when roads are re-laid or new roads are built. Making sure that green spaces where kids play football are not flogged off. Ensuring that important community groups and support networks are helped as much as they can be.
It is hyper local politics. It is the work that only somebody with high energy and who knows the local area can do. If we had 20,000 Wayne Dixons, the cumulative transformation in the entire country would be shocking over ten years. Any sports fan knows that marginal gains have huge cumulative effects when achieved consistently over a period of time (see the Chicago Bulls and Team Sky). Same with countries. 150,000 little, easy, cheap things over 10 years and you have almost a new country. This is achievable right now, with no changes in legislation or 'new elite'.
More politics should be about exactly this: putting right the 20 streets closest to where you live and making the lives of people who live there better. Remember: there are black and white pictures of a young Lee Kwan Yew sweeping the streets of Singapore. That's where he started his politics. Of course we need to get the big things right -- and Britain is facing at least three existential problems that only central government can address. Yet simultaneously, we also need this.
Unshaven, chewing gum, hands in pockets, daft haircuts, no hats, no respect, abusing the proper process to make their own lives easier.
Before you even put the sound on you know this is no longer the British police, it's a Yookay Goon Squad.
Six police surround myself and my wife and arrest us at home. This is from the police bodycam footage. We’re currently taking action against Bedfordshire police for this outrageous arrest. Myself and my wife were clearly soft targets, not exactly hardened criminals but they handcuffed both anyway …all charges dropped after a couple of months with no apology or explanation. The children were terrorised and they’ll never trust the police again.
Never believe anything until it is officially denied

In this country white kids get arrested for making fun of politicians, but adult Muslims encourage terrorism and nothing happens.
The UK is two tier, and those tiers are so far apart we may as well be at the bottom of Mount Everest looking up at the summit.
Huh
Labour will sharply reduce funding for some of Britain’s most affluent councils and divert it to poorer areas, after Andy Burnham has promised to create “good growth in every postcode”.
Councils in the vales and shires will lose £61m of grant funding from central government over the next three years, while urban areas will see an uplift of £2.9bn, according to ONS figures ⤵️
