How we can power the AI revolution without burning the planet 🔌🤖
1/ The Problem:
MIT Tech Review reveals AI could consume 22% of US household electricity by 2028 (link). Centralized data centers rely on fossil fuels (48% higher emissions than grid avg). We need alternatives.
2/ Decentralized Fix #1:
🌐 Distributed Computing Networks**
→ Leverage idle devices (home PCs, smartphones) via blockchain-secured networks (e.g., @grass @Gradient_HQ ).
→ Impact: Reduces need for mega-data centers. Example: A Stanford project cut training energy by 60% using volunteer devices.
3/ Decentralized Fix #2:
⚡ Renewable Energy Microgrids + Crypto Incentives**

I think it's a great proposal here, i think it will help @PowerPod_People at four main aspects:
Operational Efficiency: Without precise timing, chargers might misreport usage, leading to inefficiencies or conflicts (e.g., two drivers thinking a charger is available).
User Trust: Accurate timestamps build confidence in the system—drivers and charger owners know they’re charged or paid fairly based on exact usage.
Grid Integration: As EV adoption grows, Powerpod chargers may interact with smart grids for load balancing. UMT ensures these interactions happen at the right micro-moments, avoiding overloads.
Future-Proofing: Powerpod aims to lower barriers to EV adoption with innovative hardware and a Web3 model. UMT prepares it for advanced use cases, like autonomous EVs finding and paying for chargers without human input.
