I sure enjoyed reflecting on the patio with @JimSmith87. Was fun to go back a few years. 😃
What do @philmont , farming, leadership, flying, and the future of ag have in common?
@ag_guy04 and I followed that trail on the Patio and arrived at a larger question: Why should people care about agriculture?

There’s a strong business case for thinking about corn differently. Harley Janssen, NCGA Dir., Business Development & Stakeholder Relations, has been spreading the word about corn’s adaptability and ability to be a solution for many industries and applications. Corn was recently represented at New York Climate Week, covering everything from the value chain to sustainable fuel, cover crop programs, and much more. Thanks to @FieldtoMarket for your partnership.

Out on the floor at Commodity Classic walking the booths! Helping farmers and producers sign up on the spot with One Farmer, One File! 1️⃣💪
No more endless paperwork piles or duplicate forms—just one secure record that gets you into programs faster, approvals quicker, and dollars in your pocket sooner.
We had folks completing full online applications right there in MINUTES.
This is @USDA modernization in action: less bureaucracy, more support for the people who feed America. Thank you to every producer who stopped by—we're just getting started on making agriculture great again under @POTUS!
Apparently @SouthwestAir at @flystl loves the chaos at baggage claim as much as they do their new boarding process. 3 flights on one baggage claim. When an empty carousel was available.
Both processes (boarding and baggage) were less than desirable today.

A history of E15.
Seeing a lot on here about E15 and wanted to clear a few things up where I could.
Lets look at where we are and how we got here.
(a thread) 1/19
The @HouseFloor seems more interested in protecting foreign owned refiners than the American Farmer.
Delek Holdings - 13th largest & has received SRE's (Israeli ties)
Cenovus ($40B in Revenue and 1.3B in dividends) and Suncor ($40B in rev) - both Canadian co's..There's more
Par Pacific - 18th largest - $8B
HF Sinclair - 8th largest - $28.6B
CVR/Icahn - 19th largest - $10B
Yet #Farmers are on the brink of bankruptcy.
Pass E15 now and stop with the excuses.
Standardizing year-round E15 would increase corn demand by about 2.3 billion bushels per year. This demand creation would help corn growers overcome the current market upset – and rural communities would reap the benefits. #E15NOW #AmericasCrop
This tweet didn’t age well in regards to elevator lines. It got busy today!
The harvest sunrises and sunsets have not disappointed this fall!
Harvest should wrap for me by next weekend.
Elevator lines aren’t near what they were last year. Market accordingly 🤪

NCGA's leadership met today with @USDA @SecRollins. Our leaders raised concerns about the ag economy and stressed the need to develop new export markets for corn. They also raised the need for more transparency on input markets. We appreciate Secretary Rollins for her continued support for year-round E15.

.@SecKennedy You promised farmers they wouldn’t have concerns with the MAHA report, but we have read the report, and we do have concerns. We’d appreciate the chance to meet with you and share more about what modern farming really looks like. Our president, Illinois corn farmer Kenneth Hartman Jr., is ready when you are.
Kudos to @SecRollins for calling out ‘excuses’ other countries use to not take our products.
TAPPER: The European Union don't take as much as American pork because they have issues with hormones used in pork. It's not an issue about tariffs
BROOKE ROLLINS: No no no. This is really important. Here's the bottom line. They are using fake science and unsubstantiated claims to not take our products
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Use of Ractopamine in pigs have raised health and safety concerns, leading to these import restrictions. The situation reflects broader issues related to food safety standards and regulatory differences between countries and further lobby activities done by US pork producers meatpoultry.com/articles/24305…

In a committee hearing today, I heard a lawmaker claim that wheat is ‘drenched’ in glyphosate and that GM foods are harmful. That myth about glyphosate on wheat has been debunked countless times, if you’re still clinging to it, it’s time to step out of this lane. Your coffee has more carcinogens.
And as for GM foods being bad, starvation is worse.

A letter signed by 8,780 corn growers and advocates from 47 states was sent to House and Senate leadership today calling for action to remove an obsolete federal policy that prevents the sale of fuel with 15% ethanol blends, often referred to as E15, during the summer months. NCGA, along with state corn grower leaders, organized and delivered the letter. #CornAction

Now is the time for E15
If we don't move forward, we could lose an entire generation of young Farmers.
E15 is good for consumers, farmers, and refiners.

Food vs. Fuel debate is apparently a thing again - in more ways than one.
