Just one small caveat: let’s not confuse what centenarians believe helped them live so long with what actually did. 🍻

Both Doctor and Husband: Longevity Medicine and the Day Prevention Became Personal Re-titled by TEDx: "How conventional and longevity medicine can work together" 🔗youtu.be/DfzlWUwBk4g I'm deeply grateful to the @TEDxBerkshires team for the opportunity to share a story so close to home. As a physician, I've spent years studying how we can prevent illness and help people live longer, healthier lives. My wife's experience made that work personal in a way I never expected. My hope is that this talk encourages people to take a more active role in their health, ask thoughtful questions, and explore what evidence-based prevention can offer alongside conventional medical care. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to watch. I would love to hear what resonated with you.

"To be happy you must eliminate two things. The fear of a bad future and memory of a bad past" -@TalBenShahar Longevity is my theme here but more time means little if we don’t enjoy it. Savor the present. Cherish the past. And stay optimistic that tomorrow can be even better🌹

Effects of Finasteride exposure on lifespan and locomotor phenotypes “Finasteride is one of the core medications for treating androgen-associated diseases in men. It exhibits multiple therapeutic functions, including inhibiting 5α-reductase, reducing dihydrotestosterone levels, and improving conditions, including prostate enlargement and hair loss. Using Drosophila as the primary model and a mouse behavioral assay as a complementary approach, we combined developmental and behavioral assessments, morphological analyses of motor and sensory neurons, transcriptomics, and genetic methods to investigate developmental, neuronal, and behavioral changes associated with Finasteride exposure and explore their potential molecular basis. Our results indicate that Finasteride exposure is associated with increased intestinal reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation and shortened lifespan in both sexes, together with significantly reduced starvation resistance in males. In addition, Finasteride exposure was also associated with altered neuromuscular junction (NMJ) morphology, reduced locomotor performance, and decreased cask expression. … Overall, this study reveals changes in lifespan and locomotor phenotypes associated with Finasteride exposure and further highlights the importance of investigating its broader biological effects in other experimental systems.” link.springer.com/article/10…

One of the consequences of not monetizing my social channels is free reign on content, more or less. It's fun uploading little somethings from time to time to elevate collective happiness and goodness. Now go out there and pay it forward! 🙂
