Of course MPs “hope” for more money, but there’s a reluctance to acknowledge the challenges facing schools As the recent research makes clear, this policy is about ensuring working parents can access free childcare Schools shouldn’t be forced into subsidising this policy

New in PN: Trump bulldozes a golf course and the rule of law "This is about whether the judiciary can constrain this president for the next two years, or whether he will be permitted to simply bulldoze the rule of law en route to bulldozing a public park and turning it into a walled garden for his own amusement." publicnotice.co/p/trump-east…

Trump wants you to believe that his recent actions are all in the name of peace and an end to the war. There are no truths here; he never once mentions or singles out Putin for any blame. This is nothing more than a hit job on Zelensky, and an unforgivable stain on US history.

For someone employed as the US Press Secretary, she's not very informed about the press. 🤦‍♂️
Zacharia: They have said I only took questions from conservative outlets. However, The Daily Mail is not known to be a conservative outlet or friendly to conservatives

Every time I’m asked what more Europe can do for Ukraine, my answer is frustratingly similar to what it was in 2022: • Send air defense systems and ammunition, especially from countries that are not actively using them. • Enforce sanctions that actually work, without carving out exceptions for russian oligarchs. • Cripple russia’s entire shadow fleet, not just a small fraction of it. • Stop buying russian energy resources and financing putin’s war. Four years later, Ukraine is still asking for the same essentials.

It seems to me @paulwaugh should consider listening to a wider range of voices on school meals Just hearing him parrot and promote the same tired old faces is just going to lead us round in circles

This is a big deal. Ukraine has spent years developing new capabilities across domains to defend itself that are reliant on this tech. What we are now seeing is a form of strategic yet morally deficient coercion. It is giving Putin a huge advantage, showing other authoritarians how to manipulate the US president, and will probably cause many Ukrainian casualties, regardless of whether the slow down is a one time thing or something more enduring.
Restrictions affecting military Starlink connections disrupted Ukraine’s drone strike operations overnight, Defense Ministry sources told Kyiv Post. Officials are investigating the cause, including preliminary reports that connections are being interrupted at speeds above 160 kph (100 mph). kyivpost.com/post/87014

Meanwhile in the real world, the vast majority of schools ignore the school food standards (& ministers know this) and no one checks to see if or how often milk is available @CliveJonesMP

As a GP referring to hospital as an expert in General Practice, I would always expect that the person would be required to be seen by a Doctor with expertise in the field. The patient should never be allowed home without a review or consultation with a Doctor.

The Question is “what plans do this government have to introduce national auto-enrolment for FSM” The answer was lots of waffle and NONE! It really is shameful response to @icelandrichard

This is a great idea & a really positive move It also provides a fantastic opportunity for @educationgovuk to pilot Community Eligibility, where schools in areas of high deprivation are funded to offer FSM to all their pupils A little bit of joined up thinking would be fabulous
Today we are announcing our Good Food Neighbourhoods Programme. Initially supporting 45 communities - targeted at the areas with the highest levels of food inequality. Backed by £10million of investment, bringing fresh, affordable produce into neighbourhoods. Creating community kitchens and supporting pensioners' lunch clubs that tackle loneliness and hunger side by side. Because this is about more than what's on someone's plate. It's about the ties that bind us together.
