Akraaam

Do you not fear Allāh when you are publicly advised about an interview in which a man asks you whether you have a boyfriend, and in which you later pose for a picture with him, despite the fact that he is neither your maḥram nor even a Muslim? Consider how such behaviour is impermissible even if the man were a Muslim. What, then, when he is a kāfir? And for what reason are you engaging in this? Is it supposedly for the sake of daʿwah? Have you forgotten the principle in Islām that the end does not justify the means (لا تبرر الغايةُ الوسيلةَ)? A noble intention does not make a prohibited action permissible. You cannot seek to draw people towards the religion of Allāh by disobeying Allāh and His Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم). Daʿwah itself must be conducted in accordance with the guidance of the Qurʾān and Sunnah, not according to one’s own desires or preferred methods. Allāh تعالى says: ﴿أَتَأْمُرُونَ النَّاسَ بِالْبِرِّ وَتَنْسَوْنَ أَنْفُسَكُمْ وَأَنْتُمْ تَتْلُونَ الْكِتَابَ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ﴾ [البقرة: ٤٤] How can one call others to righteousness whilst disregarding the very commands and limits of the religion one claims to represent? And after all of this, you still promote the interview and present it as an example of your daʿwah! Fear Allāh, repent to Him, and understand that daʿwah is not about gaining publicity, appearing before audiences, or seeking approval from people. It is about calling people to the religion of Allāh in accordance with the guidance of His Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم).
