People who become quite good writers tend to be those who have spent a lot of time being quite bad writers and did not, as a result, run away from themselves.
Never underestimate the power of having a strong stomach for your own shortcomings.

Feminist and lesbian icon Sandi Toksvig is once again undergoing harassment from "Gender Criticals".
Toksvig outlined the absurdity of the trans bathroom panic and criticised self-proclaimed "feminists" for prioritising their hatred for trans ppl over real women's rights issues.

What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore—
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over—
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?

A non-actor friend said to me: “The acting industry seems to be a massive con. It’s mostly people who can’t be actors anymore doing endless training for other actors for jobs that aren’t there”. Does feel like that sometimes… @the98percentpod

Hope (The Arts):
Currently waiting to hear about a thing and feel sick. It's a week long residency so not huge but is huge to me.
I think this is part of the burn out of working the 'creative industries', the rollercoaster of hope/ hoping you articulate yourself well enough.

one of the worst things about purity culture is being made to feel guilty for having sexual desires and then all of a sudden on the night of your wedding you’re not suppose to feel guilty about sex anymore

we just exist in a weird dystopian loop of not funding the arts unless it’s for a scheme to give more people access into it, where they’ll then go on to work as artists and be skint because we aren’t funding the arts lol

BLACKOUT NIGHTS
If as a person you don’t have an issue with gay bars, women only gyms or any other space a marginalised person creates for themselves, please know your issue is probably steeped in racial bias and you don’t think Black People are worthy of sacred spaces
