We were taught that Earth orbits the Sun in a closed circle. In reality, Earth has never returned to the same point in space once in 4.5 billion years.
Right now, the Sun is carrying Earth and every planet around the center of the Milky Way at 230 km/s (828,000 km/h), more than 18,000 kilometers every 80 seconds.
Because the Solar System is tilted 60.2° to the galactic plane and bobs up and down through the galactic disc roughly every 30 million years, the planets trace open 3D corkscrew helices across deep space rather than flat loops.
The last time the Sun stood where it stands today, one Galactic Year (230 million years) ago, the very first dinosaurs were only beginning to appear on Earth. Since forming 4.6 billion years ago, our Sun has completed only 20 laps.
The difference between 2004 and 2007 is stark. What the hell happened?

We have been warning this is what would happen. We said it clearly: women’s rights are under attack, if you don’t accurately define a woman you cannot protect any rights specific to women. We were called bigots. Received countless death threats from trans activists. The prime minister dismissed it as a “culture war”. But we were right.

Please retweet, the stark reality of the council pound system in the UK 💔💔💔 Alice's owner passed away and she was due to be PTS in a council pound on 21 Oct 2026, thankfully a small rescue @8BelowHuskyResc stepped in and she is now safe.
🐾 A LITTLE ABOUT THE UK STRAY SYSTEM 🐾
For those who aren’t familiar with how the UK stray system works, we’d like to explain something that many people are shocked to discover.
When a dog enters the stray system, whether found wandering, abandoned or, as in Alice’s case, following the death of an owner, they can face an incredibly uncertain future.
Under UK legislation, stray dogs must generally be held for a minimum of seven days to allow an owner the opportunity to reclaim them.
After those seven days, if a dog remains unclaimed, they can legally be rehomed, transferred to rescue or euthanised.
And yes, sadly, perfectly healthy, loving dogs can lose their lives simply because there is nowhere for them to go. 💔
Not every council pound operates in the same way, and many work tirelessly alongside rescues to find safe placements. However, the reality is that kennel spaces are limited, rescues are overwhelmed and dogs continue to find themselves at risk.
The majority of dogs who come into the care of 8 Below Husky Rescue arrive through the UK stray system.
Behind every kennel door is a dog with a story. A dog who deserves compassion, kindness and a chance.
And sometimes, the difference between life and death is simply a rescue saying YES. ♥️
Everyone, please give a warm welcome to this beautiful lady, Alice.
At 11 years old, Alice should be spending her golden years surrounded by love, comfort and security. Sadly, life has dealt this beautiful girl a heartbreaking hand.
Alice’s owner sadly passed away, and this lovely girl ended up in the stray system, with a euthanasia date booked for Wednesday 21st October.
Thankfully, a pound puller we help often reached out to us, desperately seeking help to save Alice.
We are delighted to share that Alice is now safe from euthanasia and will be transported into our care very soon.
Alice is described as an incredibly sweet, loving girl with a kind and gentle nature. She is sociable with other dogs and sounds like an absolute sweetheart.
However, at 11 years old, Alice has been through an unimaginable amount of upheaval. She has lost her owner, her home and everything familiar to her.
She will need a calm, understanding home where she can decompress, grieve and begin to feel safe again. A home where she can enjoy the peace, comfort and love that every dog deserve
We don’t know how long Alice spent with her previous owner or what her life looked like before this heartbreaking turn of events.
But what we do know is that she was someone’s girl. Someone’s companion. Someone’s family. ❤️
And whilst we can never replace the person she has lost, we can promise her that she will be loved, cared for and given every opportunity to find happiness again.
Welcome to the 8 Below family, Alice. ❤️
Your world may have been turned upside down, sweetheart, but your story isn’t over.
Your next chapter starts here. 🐾❤️

Andy Burnham is in a hurry to keep it that way. This STINKS of election fraud. 😡

73% of the British public are in favour of voter ID.
In 2024 just 0.08% of people were unable to vote because they didn't have the right voter ID.
Whenever Labour says anything about 'our democracy', just remember they have zero interest in it working in your interest.

A lesson in irony…
You won’t need photo ID to vote … BUT you will need facial scans and biometric ID to discuss it online
End of lesson.

I'm a mum and watching this killed me.
That tiny baby doesn't know about rights, or slogans, or DEI, or having two dads.
He just knows a smell that isn't there.
A voice that isn't there.
A body that fed him for 9 months and then vanished.
So he roots.
He cries.
He's desperate.
He turns his face into whoever is holding him, looking for that milk and for the only solace he ever had.
And I know that cry, because I answered it once with milk and nourishment and love. All mums know it.
But nobody answers him.
Instead, he's filmed and laughed at.
We wouldn't take a puppy or a kitten off its mum at a just a few days old because we know what that does, and yet it's done to him and this is supposed to be love?
Why is human trafficking shuddered at yet this is clapped at? You don't have to be fine with it just because the parents are gay.
He's just looking for his mother and all babies deserve one.
