I have always wondered what these allowances are for. Let me ask a silly question.
If you're paid a monthly salary to do a particular job, and you go somewhere to do work you're already paid for, do you get extra payments called allowances?
What is a night allowance? What nighttime work would an already salaried public servant do to be paid for?

After Magistrate Winnie Nankya Jatiko said she didn’t have 20 minutes to allow the lawyers file bail documents because she was going to pick her child from school, we thought if we filed the documents we would obtain the production warrant for @AloikinOpoloje to appear earlier than the 16 days she remanded her for. She has also refused to entertain this. The reason this time that she mumbles informally is that we “attacked her on twitter” for sending her on remand. Judicial officers and thinking they do us a favor to just do their damn job that is tax payers pay them for!! #FreePraiseAloikin

Last week while at a supermarket in town, some man appeared to be following me. He would look at me, then when I looked at him he would look the other way. When I got to the counter to pay, he came and stood at the side of the counter for a moment, then he asked: “Are you Dr Spire”. I reluctantly said yes. He grinned a little and said nothing else. As I was getting to pay, he said: “Just go, I will pay”. That was it, he said nothing else after paying the 155,000/. Not even his name. Whoever you were, thank you. Now, while such offers from strangers have happened several times, this was a bit creepy!
