My girlfriend is both an architect and a jewelry designer, so I turned her pieces into buildings!

Long time ago, I joined the Android ecosystem because it was open-source and offered some freedom, for the same reason I have been living on Linux for 10+ years. Over time, things got worse: Google services now have privileges no other apps can; rooting the phone causes global harassment and can brick your phone; switching countries is way harder; and they allow many apps to stop working if I am rooted or in developer mode, without me being able to hide it.
And now it's finally going to turn into even more closed, proprietary shit than the iPhone. They are planning an update that will block all of the apps you installed from sources other than Google. F-Droid is leading the pushback on it. Please share keepandroidopen.org/ Google took away "do not be evil from its motto for a reason, so let's fight a new evil now! See less

At RoBioInfo 2026 in Timișoara, Livia Zaharia presented our latest Sugar1 results. Our transformer for glucose prediction beat state-of-the-art models including GluMind, N-HiTS and GluFormer on historical CGM datasets.

Just-DNA-Seq founder @antonkulaga and contributor Livia Zaharia organized an AI in biology workshop for the Resilient Ageing consortium. Sessions covered Gemini notebooks, MCPs, skills and agentic AI, with genomic-agent examples tied to our open personal genomics data mission.
Following up on Just-DNA-Lite, our open-source platform for analyzing your own genome locally. Two short video walkthroughs so you can see it in action without installing anything.
Intro by Livia, run on her own real genome: upload a VCF, get variant annotation, 5000+ PRS from the PGS Catalog, and health-risk reports, all in minutes on a laptop.

And the part I'm most excited about, AI-assisted module creation by Newton Winter: hand the agent papers you care about, and it drafts a working annotation module in minutes that you can then edit by hand.

Fully open source (AGPL-3.0). We're applying for open-source funding where GitHub stars and issues genuinely count, so if this is useful to you, a star really helps, and a feature request or bug report helps just as much:

What if our descendants look back at our acceptance of aging the way we look back at medieval medicine?

The news about 23andMe filing for bankruptcy feels like the end of an era. For years, they’ve been the face of personal genomics, but their reliance on genomic microarrays—a tech that only looks at pre-selected markers—is outdated. Full-genome sequencing, which reads every base pair in your DNA, is now the standard. And here’s the thing: it’s affordable (200-400€ for 30x coverage).
This isn’t the death of personal genomics—it’s an evolution. Full-genome sequencing offers richer, deeper insights, and it’s becoming more accessible.
We’ve been working on Just-DNA-Seq, an open-source platform that lets you analyze your full-genome data locally. No black-box algorithms, no corporate middlemen. Just transparency and control. Built on OakVar, it’s modular, AI-powered, and designed for ease of use. Check it out: just-dna.life
The future of genomics isn’t about outdated tech or opaque services—it’s about empowering individuals with better tools and greater transparency. 🧬💻
