Best anecdote in Carol Thatcher's book about her father is when Sir Denis boarded a train at Paddington in which the only empty compartment was reserved for Rosewood Psychiatric Hospital.
Denis travelled alone and in comfort as far as Reading when "all these chaps piled in", accompanied by a male nurse, who counted them before the train moved off.
'One, two, three, four ... who are you?"
"I'm the Prime Minister's husband."
"Six, seven, eight, nine..."

In next e have a superb hour of a mash up from this duo. 21 years ago:
This is 2 Many DJ's @ Santander Summer Festival 09.07.05
This rip actually runs a few minutes shorter than others out there, but is higher quality. I'll always choose quality as the priority, unless it cuts off a lot of a mix. Mad selection, mad mash ups. You know what to expect! Tracklist in comments.
Reminder that all mixes uploaded here today go on my Kofi for download tonight.

Album of the day. It's hard to believe Shuggie Otis was only 18 years old when he recorded this, his second solo album, Freedom Flight. He had long cut his teeth as a veteran guitarist, both on the road and in the studio, thanks to his father, R&B and blues legend Johnny Otis. So his skills were already well-developed by the time he made this monster psychedelic-blues-soul-funk opus, highlighted by the original version of his best-known song, "Strawberry Letter 23" (which became a huge smash when the Brothers Johnson covered it six years later on their 1977 release, Right On Time). A true "musician's musician," Shuggie plays a bunch of instruments (very well) and shows himself to be a great bassist as he is a guitarist. Also, heavyweights like George Duke, Wilton Felder, and Aynsley Dunbar guesting on here doesn't hurt at all. While Shuggie may have not been a household name in his heyday, any true music aficionado will agree that this classic reinforces the idea of Shuggie being the true missing link between Sly Stone and Prince.

2026 economic sciences laureate Robert E. Hall’s hypothesis was that changes in consumption could not be predicted because they depend on new – and thus unpredictable – information.
Hall presented his results in an article in 1978, which was something of a eureka moment for research. His work became key to the development of modern research on consumption.
