Today we’re releasing Laguna XS.2, Poolside’s first open-weight model.
It’s a 33B total / 3B active MoE model built for agentic coding and long-horizon tasks.
Trained fully in-house on our own stack. Runs on a single GPU. Released under Apache 2.0.

Excited to share that @lmnrai has raised $3M to build open-source observability for long-running AI agents.
Laminar is how companies like @browser_use, @OpenHandsDev, and Rye see what their agents are doing, understand why they fail, and spot patterns across millions of runs.

My man, it's 25c per M tokens for OSS 120B. Let us worry about the hardware bill, you enjoy the 3,000 TPS tokens.

That being said,
Currently at 40 minutes of complete @openrouter system outage - the parts of our system that rely on it now don't work.
I'm an OpenRouter fan but we cannot really have our production system rely on this. And no update on X or anything about when this might be resolved.
If the value add is better uptime, can't really have systems-wide failure for this long.
We now either need to accept this as a risk or build a fallback system ourselves which defeats the point a bit.

Its Week 2 at @Fern_Labs and I'm already thinking of how I'll completely automate myself from building Fern

It's trendy for politicians to show off extremely short timelines. In the UK, this is especially curious given (a) the Secretary of State for technology is one of them and (b) with a few notable exceptions, the UK is behaving as if AGI is centuries away

Impressive model based on a few minutes of playing, but disappointing to see no mention at all of a model card, red teaming, yesterday's incident, or how they are going to address the process issues they keep having.

last night's @airstreet nyc ai meetup hosted at @awscloud showcased sota coding agents, workflow agents, generative user interfaces and protein and molecular design tools.
some seriously impressive demos from:
- @ashedwardst of @Fern_Labs with long-running computer agents
- @Albertorizzoli of @V7Labs automating reasoning-heaving enterprise workstreams
- @tylerangert of @patinasystems showing his latest product for the first time
- @NaefLuca of @vant_ai diving into their latest AI for science

Here's the result of a 3 hour, completely independent agent session (i.e. NO human input apart from the initial prompt).
We needed a remote interviewing tool (we're hiring!) - something where we could collaborate on coding concepts with people remotely - highlight different parts of code, etc.
This isn't easy, requiring sockets/ide setup/testing in multiple browsers. Fern produced (and deployed) the below in ~3 hours. This was prompt -> product with 0 human intervention. We found a couple minor bugs, but a great v0!
More examples to follow of what's possible with long running agents.

Very impressed by Sonnet 3.7 - we saw instances of Fern coding for 15 minutes straight into a compiled, deployed app, one-shotting over 25 files, and (unprompted) designing its own SVGs for extra flair.
Really excited to discover over the next few weeks what the new frontier of agent performance is.

Today we're starting the Fern Demo Lab - an experiment in community driven app development.
We aim to have Fern create great products, both independently and guided by users. The Fern Demo Lab is an experiment to see what happens when you give the community the ability to directly guide product directions!
For any of the apps featured, you can suggest new directions or features. Fern periodically reviews all the suggestions for each app, and will continuously integrate the most popular or interesting ideas.
You can also suggest entirely new apps for Fern to build and be featured in the Demo Lab.
Many more coming soon!
