In 2013, I ran away from work to listen to him speak. In 2025, when the world tunes into the master, a forgotten chapter of my life returns to me. László Krasznahorkai once ignited my dreams and, perhaps, also lent them the sense of an ending. thewire.in/culture/laszlo-kr…

What India’s protesters can learn from Serbia: Avoid personality cult. Grassroot politics, instead of hyperpolitics. Movement for change, not a launching pad for personal ambitions. Avoid getting co-opted by politics parties. And a reminder to Serbia: frontline.thehindu.com/world…

Delhi NCR, spread the word and come join us for the sale on 15th November (details below). Last year, we were able to, among other things, sponsor the school fees of 22 children through the sale. We hope to do the same again this year!

We are now reaching a point where critics of the ruling party will be hounded, their parents dragged in and courts will legitimise ludicrous demands of cancellation of passport and Aadhaar. Absolutely shameful!
BREAKING: Madras High Court issues notice on plea seeking investigation into the identity and background of journalist Saurav Das, including his parents, and cancellation of his passport and Aadhaar card if allegations are established. @SauravDassss @Cockroachisback

Bolsanaro had a familiar playbook in Brazil: paint Lula as an ally of crime syndicates, dismiss journos as enemies of society, and tap into people’s anxieties about the loss of traditional values. How did Lula’s party fight it? No analysis here but important to note how the Left there is rooted in culture/religion: in Catholicism that shaped struggles for workers’ rights, in the neighbourhood bar where people gather to sing samba and drink Cachaca. The Left’s strength comes from being part of everyday life.
Can a divided Brazil still talk to itself? From a Bolsonaro rally in São Paulo to a left-wing bar in Rio, @MnshaP meets Brazilians navigating political fault lines ahead of the election run-off. Watch the full report: youtu.be/__a42fEHdSw

Patna has one of India's finest museums, far superior than many famed ones in Europe. It's now ranked 9th in the world, the only one India has in this list. (PS. Patna's Bapu Tower, a new museum dedicated to Gandhi, would admit no rivalry either.) worthajourney.com/museums/

An imprisoned individual questions the political system, urges marginalised communities to seek decentralisation. Should the defenders of the Republic address his concerns, or call him separatist? And - isn't the call of Hindu Rashtra separatism? Constitution won't allow this.
Disagree with some of his opinions, but there's a lot to agree with, esp once you realise the framework of a marginalised, imprisoned Muslim. One who has seen the Constitution constantly failing them. He's remarkably consistent in his dissent. It's not about the Hindutva alone.

Utterly incoherent how he goes from Athens, where he denigrated Persia as the eternal Other in a clash with Western "civilization," to this embrace of Samarkand, a city that's wholly bound up in Persian "civilization," if talking about civilizations is so important to you.
Few places on Earth have historically played such an important role in global trade and commerce as Samarkand. It’s an honor to be here today — not just to remember the history, but the opportunities for the future.
