I hear the winds of the Harper era blowing in… all the “abolish the Indian Act” talk… feds would love nothing more than to drop its fiduciary and treaty obligations. Saw this coming with Carney’s conservative extractive agenda. #cdnpoli #indianact #treaties
Abolishing the Indian Act does not fix the relationship and anyone who thinks it does is naive.

Digesting #BCElection2026 & worrying about what it means for DRIPA, truth, justice and reconciliation, Indigenous land rights, & our human rights obligations.
Waking up to messages like this is exactly why.
We must work even harder to resist the erosion of Indigenous rights.

Something we have to recognize about the Tories victory in BC tonight is that it's fueled to a large extent by racism against indigenous people.

Here are the graves.
This Orange Shirt Day we are returning the Brandon Indian Residential School cemetery grounds to the Sioux Valley Dakota Nation on behalf of many First Nations whose children are buried here.
This is one of the most well documented burial grounds at a residential school in Canada with not only church and historical records but also contemporaneous newspaper articles describing what happened to these children.
You can not deny history.

You know who was pretty quiet today regarding the masked white supremacists mobilizing in Kamloops with residential school denialism on the eve of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation? @PierrePoilievre. Here he is posing with the group's founder.

If you mismanaged money, signed bad deals, and ran up the office credit card at work – you'd probably lose your job ❌
In Doug Ford's record-oversized cabinet? You get a promotion 💼🤝
It's just a big game of musical chairs to them, doing as little as possible whilst wasting your tax dollars 🪑💸
They're trying to change the channel from scandal after scandal: but we know we can't trust these guys 📉

The Ontario Liberals spent 10K promoting inaccurate projections from @338Canada instead of promoting their ideas and values. People want to vote for something, distrustful of this kind of cynical approach.

This is your regular reminder that the Marten Falls Community Access Road is a community access road to Marten Falls First Nation and not a road to the proposed Ring of Fire mineral deposit.
A historic day for Ontario: construction is underway on the Marten Falls Community Access Road, a key link to unlocking the Ring of Fire.
As President Trump wages economic attacks, we're protecting Ontario and creating jobs by unlocking Ontario’s critical minerals.

Tonight we mourn the loss of a remarkable leader.
Joan Phillip was utterly devoted to making life better — for her neighbours in Vancouver-Strathcona, for Indigenous youth, and for working people across the province. She spent a lifetime at the front of the fight for justice. Now, it is up to all of us to carry her powerful legacy forward.
I’m sending strength to her partner, Grand Chief Stewart Phillip, her family, and everyone whose life was richer with Joan in it.

As much as vladdy’s performance this season has been disappointing, it’s not lost on me how much more intense the vitriol towards him has been compared to any other player on the team that’s been underperforming.
Over a decade ago I wrote about Jose Bautista and the experience of Latino players on the Jays in the context of Canadian multiculturalism.
I think it still speaks to the vicious backlash Vladdy is facing from fans.
