I don’t think having daily mass at 9 is a bad thing at all for that reason. My issue is that my current parish has three priests and only offers it at 9am and barely has confession but once a week on Saturday from 2-3. Completely foreign to me compared to my old diocese.

Our Office of Divine Worship explains why the faithful should refrain from extending their hands during the Our Father at Mass:
"Further, the Second Vatican Council’s Constitution on Sacred Liturgy, Sacrosanctum Concilium, states that “no other person, even if he be a priest, may add, remove, or change anything in the liturgy on his own authority.” (SC 22.3) Since the GIRM is very specific that the priest is instructed by the GIRM (152) to extend his hands when he prays the Lord’s Prayer, for the deacons or the laity to extend their hands would be adding to the liturgy. Therefore, the practice of the lay faithful extending their hands (or holding hands) during the Our Father should not be done."

I’m glad you have those mass times near you.

Yeah, because they’re “artwork” she’s showing is actually damaging to the soul and drives women to tears and men to anger.

I think that’s because they’re the ones who’ve asked, not because the parishes intentionally forget to consider us. I think it’s as others have pointed out, the chicken and the egg.

Retired people (like you) can also attend a 7am daily mass.

Where did I say my job was more important than God? The second part is nonsensical ramblings.

I’m going to speak with the pastor of my parish. He’s newly appointed as of a few months ago and seems like the kind of Priest to be open to recommendations for change.

I will be, I’m just kind of shocked honestly. I’m used to the diocese of Arlington which has mass times for everyone every day. So the diocese of Orlando is almost a culture shock.

It’s always the throw away posts too huh.

I regret having a post blow up. My phone won’t stop going off. How do you and @Catholicizm1 deal with it lol.

I’m a start your day with it kind of guy.

I will be speaking to him about this. He’s new as of a few months ago and I was allowing him some time to see if he implemented some changes before I addressed some issues that make things challenging for working adults to access the sacraments.

I don’t want people to think I’m saying it’s intentional poor shepherding. I really just think my current diocese has had a bad case of complacency and lack of understanding young adults.

My current parish has three priests, two deacons, and a plethora of altar boys. I just don’t think the Pastor realizes that many working adults would also attend daily mass if it was better scheduled.

Our weekend mass times are wonderful, but the lack of confession times other than one hour on Saturday and during work hours on first Friday at my parish is my biggest issue. I have to drive to a completely different parish farther away for confession.
