At a recent event where I spoke at a community center, a group of “pro-Palestine” militiamen appeared outside to protest and disrupt the event, along with agitated older white women who entered the venue to do the same on the inside. The organizers and I had arranged extensive security because these same “activists” had spent days trying to get the event canceled and openly vowed to do whatever they could to stop it from happening. As I walked in, a few masked “activists” in keffiyehs whispered, "is this the genocide guy?" I turned to them and said, "hi gentlemen, thanks for coming." One replied, "Free Palestine." I responded, "I agree, including from Hamas." Once I began speaking, several disruptors engaged in a steady stream of whispering, side conversations, eye-rolling, posturing, and juvenile antics. I stopped and asked one of the women why she and her comrades were behaving like children. She admitted she knew nothing about me or my work but felt qualified to declare that if I were truly Palestinian, my Nakba-surviving grandparents would be rolling in their graves. I asked the agitators to be respectful, explaining that while security could remove them, I would rather they listen to what I actually had to say, instead of relying on misinformation spread about me by the local DSA, BDS, and other "pro-Palestine" groups. What enraged me most was their reaction when I spoke about my family in Gaza, the relatives we have lost to Israeli airstrikes during the post-October 7 war, and the destruction of both my childhood homes. These white “activists” laughed and smirked as I described some of the most painful experiences of my life and the sense of personal loss that inspires my work. They showed shocking indifference toward the very Palestinians on whose behalf they claim to be acting. I confronted some of the disruptors directly and asked why they get to define what it means to be "pro-Palestine," despite knowing nothing about me and showing no interest in the trauma my family has endured. Some stormed out shouting "Free Palestine." Others fell silent. One person, despite strongly disagreeing with me, acknowledged that my views were rooted in personal loss and genuine concern for my people and shook my hand before leaving. On my way out, a pseudo-journalist known for glorifying Hamas and "the resistance" tried to ambush me with questions about whether I was paid by weapons manufacturers, oil companies, or, as he brilliantly misstated it, the "Arab Union Emirates." It struck me how absurd it is that I needed three heavily armed security officers and a bodyguard simply to speak about healing and reconciliation between Palestinians and Israelis, the dangers of extremism for both societies, the catastrophic damage Hamas has inflicted on the Palestinian national project, and the right of Palestinians to freedom, safety, and prosperity alongside a secure Israel.

I am not saying this for effect, I mean it quite literally: rhetoric like this gets Jews killed. Cenk is not just an embarassment, he is a hateful demagogue.
New @RebellionPac ad dropping in Michigan. We have to suffer here at home, so Israel can get all its wars. That’s why they buy politicians like Mike Rogers. He promised to serve Israel “unconditionally,” but never made that promise to you.

This is the modern-day equivalent of a Medieval lord telling his serfs that the reason they are starving is because Jewish moneylenders stole all their money.

This is so embarrassing. He wrote a letter urging a would-be Islamist dictator to crack down on dissenters. Own it or apologize, stop crying and smearing.
El-Sayed: "We had a little debate. Or I had a debate and he just pointed at me and said, 'He's Muslim.'"

Cruz and Rogers aren't saying this stuff because he's Muslim. They're saying it because he has actual ties to terrorists and their sympathizers and he refuses to unequivocally condemn them. That doesn't make these attacks ok or smart, because they can be weaponized, even by well-intended folks like you. But that doesn't make them "Islamophobic". And I think your analysis would be more credible if you called out his terror apologia and treated it the same as you would if a R campaigned with David Duke or refused to condemn the KKK, because these are in fact the same thing, morally speaking.

For the Sally Rooney - Salman Rushdie parallel to work, a major Jewish leader would have had to call for her murder, gangs of marauding Jews would have had to burn down bookstores, and a Jewish extremist would have had to stab her eye out with a knife.
If you ever sought out the novels of Sally Rooney in bookshops – when that was still possible – you’d know they sit in the fiction stacks adjacent to the novels of another SR whose books have been withdrawn in dastardly political circumstances. Until last week, “Rooney” and “Rushdie” had little in common beyond being shelfmates; now they have more than just a physical proximity. @tanjil_rashid_: This is censorship by other means newstatesman.com/comment/202…

I watched a lot of people march against fascism and then a few years later mindlessly scroll tiktok until they believed it's good to harass, demonize, ostracize, beat, and kill their Jewish neighbors. As if the original fascists thought they were the bad guys when they did it.

My son was detained and got a ticket for fishing in a Catskills lake without a permit. Brad Lander flew 6000 miles on a tourist visa and was detained for not having the required farming permit in a security zone. At least my son didn't take selfies and complain to the media.
Everyone in our Protect the Harvest delegation has been released. The Israelis who were with us have also received 15-30 day bans from the West Bank, which unfortunately means they will be unable to participate in the olive harvest. Thank you to everyone for the kind words and support throughout the day. For now, just feeling very grateful that our group is safe.

Notice the goal posts moving. In Bernie's original argument, AIPAC caused a war. Now that his antisemitism is being called out he says AIPAC supports the war. There is a large gap between those two claims. The war was Trump's choice. The buck stops with him.
No. I’m not “scapegoating” AIPAC. You support Trump's illegal war in Iran. Americans don’t. You want taxpayers to spend billions funding the Israeli government. Americans don’t. Your super PAC is spending $9 million to defeat Abdul because he opposes your agenda. Unacceptable.

AIPAC is why your fantasy football team stinks. AIPAC is why the weather is bad. AIPAC is why you need an app to park. Say NO to Bernie’s obsessive scapegoating. YES to an America that works with our ally to create U.S. jobs, keep America safe, and promote democratic values.
AIPAC is now spending as much as $9 million against Abdul El-Sayed. AIPAC is why we’re at war in Iran. AIPAC is why the U.S. has supported genocide in Gaza. We must say NO to AIPAC. YES to electing Abdul as Michigan’s next U.S. Senator.

It is a lie that Palestinians did not exist in 1948. One of the earliest references to Palestinians as a distinct people dates back to 1798, when German philosopher Immanuel Kant mentioned “Palestinians living among us” in his book Anthropology from a Pragmatic Point of View. He was, of course, referring to Ashkenazi Jews living in Europe. Palestine was always a geographical term, but on the rare occasions when it was used to refer to a people, it referred to Jews. The Palestinian Arab identity, however, is much more recent and was indeed only invented in the 1960s. Until then, Arabs were never seen as native, and fiercely rejected and even took offense at being called Palestinian, as the term was strongly associated with Jews and the Zionist movement. The Palestinian Arab identity was created specifically as a counter-identity to Israel and to present Arabs as an ancient and indigenous people of the region. Had Israel never been established, not a single Arab would identify as Palestinian today. So yes, Palestinians did exist before 1948. They just were Jews.

Myriam was a 7-year-old French Jewish girl. She witnessed a terrorist break into her school and kill two of her classmates. She tried to run but tripped while grabbing her schoolbag, causing her ballet slippers to fall out. She stopped to pick them up. He chased her and grabbed her by the hair, shooting her in the head at point-blank range. The man was Mohamed Merah, and a rap song honoring him and other Muslim terrorists has become the unofficial anthem of the ‘student protests’ in France.

Remember when the Democrats ran a guy with a Nazi tattoo all those many moons ago and Republicans said it should be obvious that it's better to lose than to win with the guy with the Nazi tattoo? The same principle holds when it comes to the guy willing to weaponize child rape.
