For those going onto my profile and saying โLol youโre from the USโโฆ
Yes, Iโm aware. I live in the US, but Iโm not an American citizen. Itโs called being an expat, and Iโd think you would know what that means. Iโm a Cymro from Aberystwyth, born and bred, who left Wales last year with my American wife and kids because the Senedd canโt run a whelk stall and the UK doesnโt pay software people what America does.
I can still see the case for independence while watching everything handed to Cardiff get worse. I still know the difference between performative โnationalistsโ (anti-English globalists) and actual nationalists who actually want Wales run properly. Living in America doesnโt make me American any more than living under a useless Senedd made me a supporter of it. Read the bio next time.

Japan and America once fought a terrible war.
Both sides lost so much. That history is real, and it should never be forgotten.
Every now and then, someone on X brings up "the atomic bomb" to attack us.
Funny thing is, it's usually someone from a country that was neither bombed nor involved.
The two countries that actually lived through it have already moved on. Together.
More than 80 years have passed.
We, the grandchildren, honor those who died, on both sides,
and carry that pain in our own quiet way, even though we were never there.
In 2011, I lived through the Great East Japan Earthquake.
I saw with my own eyes how America came to help us.
Soldiers, volunteers, ordinary people sending what they could.
They called it Operation Tomodachi. "Tomodachi" means friend.
I have never forgotten that word.
Japanese TV doesn't always show the world as it really is.
But here on X, I talk with real Americans every day.
And I found so many of you feel exactly the way we do.
So here's how history turned out:
Two countries that once tried to destroy each other
now argue about the best way to cook a brisket.
Honestly, that's the happiest ending I can imagine.
Thank you, America. ๐ฏ๐ต๐บ๐ธ

Today (10/24/26) is Pythagorean Theorem Day.
The month, day, and last two digits of the year are a Pythagorean triple and satisfy the Pythagorean theorem equation (aยฒ + bยฒ = cยฒ).
10ยฒ + 24ยฒ = 26ยฒ
This is the final Pythagorean Theorem Day of the 21st century.

In 1941, a Spaniard walked into the British embassy in Madrid and offered to spy on the Nazis.
The British turned him down.
So he went to the Germans instead, pretended to be a loyal fascist, and got hired as a German spy. His plan was to lie to them for the rest of the war.
It worked better than anyone could have imagined.
His name was Juan Pujol Garcรญa. Before the war he had tried his hand at running a chicken farm and a movie theater. He had no spy training. What he had was a deep hatred of both fascism and communism after the Spanish Civil War, and an incredible imagination.
The Germans gave him a codename, invisible ink, money, and orders to go to Britain and recruit spies.
He didn't go to Britain.
He went to Lisbon, Portugal, and made everything up.
Using a tourist guidebook, maps, magazines, newsreels, and a British railway timetable from the library, he wrote long, detailed reports about life in England. Military movements. Morale. Ports.
He'd never been there. He made mistakes. He didn't understand British money. He once reported that dockworkers in Glasgow would do anything for a liter of wine.
The Germans loved him anyway.
Then British codebreakers reading German messages noticed something strange. The Germans were hunting for a convoy that didn't exist, based on a report from some agent in Britain they'd never heard of.
The British went looking for this mystery spy. They found Pujol. In 1942 they finally took him on and brought him to London.
Now he had real help. MI5 gave him the codename Garbo, after the actress, because they thought he was the greatest actor in the world.
Together with his British handler, Pujol built a fake spy network for the Germans. It eventually had 27 imaginary agents. Each had a name, a personality, a job, and a backstory. A Welsh nationalist. A Venezuelan student. A Greek sailor. Some of them recruited their own imaginary sub-agents.
When they needed to explain why one agent had gone quiet, they killed him off. They even put a fake obituary in a Liverpool newspaper. The Germans reportedly paid a pension to his widow.
Who also didn't exist.
Then came D-Day.
Hours before the landings, the British let Pujol send a message warning the Germans that the invasion was coming in Normandy. It was timed so it would arrive too late to matter, but it made him look brilliant.
Three days later he sent the most important message of his career. Normandy was a trick, he said. The real invasion was still coming, at Calais, led by a huge army under General Patton.
That army was fake too. But the Germans believed him.
German forces that could have been rushed to Normandy were held back near Calais for weeks, waiting for an attack that never came.
The Germans were so grateful they awarded him the Iron Cross.
A few months later, King George VI made him a Member of the Order of the British Empire.
He's one of the only people known to have been decorated by both sides of the war.
After the war, afraid of revenge from surviving Nazis, he faked his own death from malaria in Africa and disappeared to Venezuela, where he lived quietly running a shop.
For decades the world thought he was dead.
In 1984, a British writer tracked him down. Pujol came back to Normandy for the 40th anniversary of D-Day and met veterans who had landed on the beaches.
Some of them thanked him.

Dr. Gay Ludwig Hitler (1882โ1948), an Ohio dentist and the son of George Washington Hitler...
Dr. Gay Ludwig Hitler was born on January 13, 1882, in Circleville, Pickaway County, Ohio, to George Washington Hitler and Ida May Lutz. He worked as a dentist in Circleville, Ohio, for over four decades (practicing from 1922 through 1946).
. . .
The Hitler family (originally descendants of George Hitler, who emigrated from Germany/Maryland to Ohio in the late 1700s) was a prominent, long-standing farming and pioneer family in Pickaway County.
The family had been in America for generations. The first was George Hitler, a German immigrant born in 1763, who settled in Pennsylvania before moving his family to southern Ohio. Some roads in Pickaway County still carry the Hitler name today.
Then, in the 1930s, a man with the same surname rose to power in Germany. By the time WWII ended, it had become the most infamous name in the world. Due to the family's deep local history long before the 20th-century German dictator rose to power, several local placesโincluding Hitler Road, Hitler-Ludwig Road, Hitler Park, and the Hitler-Ludwig Cemeteryโwere named after them.
Many Americans with the name changed it. Gay Hitler never did. He lived through WWII and passed away on October 27, 1948, in Worthington, Ohio. He was buried under a gravestone that still reads โHITLER.โ
His story went viral more than 70 years later, when an old newspaper clipping with his name began circulating online.
Even his first name was a family tradition. It came from Susannah Gay, the wife of the original George Hitler who brought the family to America.

Two critical vulnerabilities have been identified in PHP, a widely used programming language that powers websites and web applications. These vulnerabilities (CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619) could allow malicious cyber actors to remotely execute code in PHP core, potentially compromising sensitive data and networks.
The FBI urges organizations to take the following steps now:
โก๏ธ If an immediate update is not feasible it is recommended that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated.
โก๏ธ Immediately update affected PHP installations following the guidance on php.net. Inventory where PHP runs in your environment, prioritizing internet-facing systems and vendor products that bundle PHP.
โก๏ธ Monitor web servers for suspicious activity, including PHP processes unexpectedly launching command shells or downloading files. Ensure appropriate process-monitoring capabilities are in place to help identify potential exploitation.
โก๏ธ If you find signs of compromise, isolate affected systems, preserve your web server and PHP logs, and report it to your local FBI field office or ic3.gov. Those reports help us identify the actors involved and warn other organizations before they become victims.
For the latest information, follow PHPโs announcement on php.net, CERT-EU Security Advisory 2026-018, and CISAโs Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog.

In contrast, I find Americans to be quite pleasant and engaging. They are intellectually curious; as one example, an elderly American couple I know study French simply because they enjoy French culture and respect its people.
The difference politically is that Americans understand Trump. They take him seriously but not literally. You take him literally but not seriously. They know that unlike the preening Obama that Europe reveres, Trump genuinely loves America and wants to improve it. In this, Americans have the better approach.

The โfar-rightโ gain could be stopped in 5 minutes if the left were actually serious with these easy steps: stop taking in migrants in Europe, and crack down on crime in LATAM. Obviously other factors, but those two are the largest reasons why the waves keep happening.
