Tonight the HUN gov.tabled a new Russian-type foreign agents law. Uder the new bill, blacklisted organizations lose access to many types of funding—and must legally prove all support comes from within Hungary. The goal: to intimidate domestic donors. #Hungary #RuleOfLaw

Hungarian Parliament scheduled to vote on Swedish accession to NATO for 26 February. The governing party groups had sent a letter today to the Speaker of the Parliament expressing their support for Swedish accession to NATO. @SwedishPM visit Budapest this Friday. @SwedeninHU
Full withdrawal expected however so far the argument was that MPs are independent and @PM_ViktorOrban already supported Sweden's membership. Next regular session in expected in February. Full agenda and date is not yet confirmed.
Just finished a phone call with @NATO Secretary General @jensstoltenberg. I reaffirmed that the Hungarian government supports the NATO-membership of #Sweden. I also stressed that we will continue to urge the Hungarian National Assembly to vote in favor of Sweden’s accession and conclude the #ratification at the first possible opportunity.
