THE PRINCE WHO KILLED HIS GRANDFATHER, THE KABAKA, AND SEIZED THE THRONE: AN ERA THAT ENDED WHEN HE WENT MAD What you see in the picture is Kabaka Ttembo. He killed the reigning Kabaka — his own grandfather and became the new king. But why…? Let’s see below ✍🏽️ Ttembo was the son of Prince Lumansi, one of Kabaka Kimera’s sons. Prince Lumansi had died in the east, in present-day Busoga, where he had gone to collect taxes and livestock on behalf of his father, Ssekabaka Kimera. At the time, Busoga was a vassal state that paid tribute to Buganda. As a young prince, Ttembo realised he had a grandfather but no father. He began questioning his mother, Nattembo, about why he was fatherless. Oh! 🙆🏾‍♂️ One day she finally told him that Kabaka Kimera had caused his father’s death by sending him to Busoga. From that moment, the young prince began planning his revenge. Ssekabaka Kimera loved the young Ttembo so much and often took him hunting. One day, while the Kabaka was out hunting, Ttembo stealthily approached him from behind with a large stick and struck him dead, thereby avenging his father’s death and claiming the throne. 😳 From that day, the large stick used to kill his grandfather was given the name “Awakula Ennume…” Ttembo proved to be a cruel ruler who ruled Buganda with an iron hand and created a climate of fear throughout the kingdom. His reign came to an end when he went mad. Some say it was the spirit of his murdered grandfather, Kimera, that drove him insane. To this day, anyone who becomes mad in Buganda is said to be under the curse that befell Kabaka Ttembo. This is reflected in the Baganda saying about mad people: “oyo ayita Ttembo.”

After I had lost my Muganda girlfriend because of the reckless statements from my SIL I made it a point to get another muganda lady and correct the bad image. I met muzukulu wa gabunga and the world has been exceptional for me. She is big headed (sturbon), funny, idiotic 😂 but above all my best friend. She has taught me that since I am in Buganda I have to love and respect their culture and when we go to kakoba, she does the same. She made me watch every teachings of the Katikiro CPM and he has become my second role model after Barak. We have one hectare (heeka) of coffee since my role model has been talking about emwanyi terimba. I love goats but she has taught me coffee farming too. I am looking forward to expanding my coffee farm. To you who say Baganda are thieves you have not met my other SIL and mu muzukulu wa gabunga. They are the best things that has ever happened to us as brothers. To you my idiotic friend 😂, you’re an amazing soul. We love you so much. Baganda are not thieves. We should respect their tribe because theft is not their character.

One political decision in Washington can influence investment decisions in Tokyo, borrowing costs in London and currency pressures in Kampala. That is an interconnected global economy. The recent movement of the dollar following America’s midterm elections is another reminder that financial markets respond not only to economic data but also to expectations about political decisions. For countries like Uganda, the lesson is clear we must understand global developments without allowing our entire economic future to depend on them. Diversification, domestic production and regional trade are not optional luxuries. They are elements of economic resilience against the dollar.

I really need someone to tell me what exactly happened to Wave. This fintech company had penetrated the market with a lot of energy. Yali gumite. What led to its quick downfall? Do we blame the mobile money giants, MTN and Airtel?
